Does our Canadian neighbors have any input on sensing getting in the way ot track days???????

QUOTE="thatonedaveguy, post: 718155, member: 16945"]Makes sense not to make major changes to the 2020. Reviews of the 2020 Si say Honda sensing is getting in the way of track day fun. Type R buyers would be none too pleased if they added something like that.

Honestly if they just kept making the Type R on the FK8 platform with minor tweaks here and there for the next 10+ years I would not complain one bit. They can change the base Civic however they want but I would love to be able to get a brand new version of the exact same car I have right now 10 years later.[/QUOTE]

They have raised it what 3 times now with no changes to the car other then a volume knob.
I’m sure someone’s brilliant “national security risk” tarriffs on aluminum and steel might have had something to do with at least one of those price increases...

Pretty sure Parliament hasn't ceded control to Orangeman and the colonial upstarts yet, so I don't know how that applies.

Hmmm looks like those tarriffs were removed earlier in 2019. I was under the impression they were still in effect.

Doesn't get in the way at all...if it did, just switch that but if it off...

And I'd gladly pay for it again...

Driving wise, maybe. But aesthetics wise, updates are generally a good thing (if done tastefully, that is)

I personally like those subtle changes to the black grills on the front and rear bumpers that the Si seems to have. Even if they don’t come on the 2020 CTR, I’d be interested in adding them just to break up the big black inserts a bit. They seem like a clean touch.
If they were to update the aesthetics I would expect it to be less outrageous in appearance than it currently is. That would not make me happy. Part of the appeal of this car is the in your face styling. I know most of the reviews are negative towards the styling, good, the car isn't for everyone.

This seems like the logical move for them. I'm not expecting an update until an entire new gen comes out. The FK8 is perfect as it is.
The Si was nice too, but the Type R would be a bit more appealing if it had stuff like LaneWatch, Honda Sensing, the updated bumpers, heated seats etc.

I absolutely agree. I came out of a 2015 Si and miss the right lane camera. If anything they may add that stuff but I still don't see a body redesign or refresh coming to the FK8. However it is what it is and I'm in love with my CTR.

Yeah for sure. That's my dream car right now and I don't expect a redesign/refresh till 11th gen just thinking how they added Sensing suite to the Si and how they could do it with the Type R too which would be nice

The crazy part about all this is the FK8 HAS Sensing. It HAS proximity sensors. It HAS LaneWatch. It HAS power folding mirrors.

None of these things are sold in the USDM. We're speculating not on whether Honda is going to develop any of this, just "will they deign us with shit other countries get"
Not sure why Honda doesn't just make every market version fully loaded. Keep it simple. Probably more work to sanitize and delete features from certain markets. They will sell every one they make anyway, so who cares about increased msrp.
