Recently a Civic Type R “FK8” exhaust popped up locally and it caught my attention as I wondered how it would sound/fit on my wife’s 2017 Civic Sport 6 speed.

I researched and found a few that had done it but only has testimonials on how it sounded after installation.

I was able to pick it up for a fair price and figured I’d share the result and post some videos. Now you’ll probably have to have a set of headphones on to really catch the sound result. It does have a more deeper tone at lower rpms, and now has a more distinct “vacuum” sound that these cars are known for.

As for as installation, it was a direct bolt on. I did have to trim a small part of the rear trim valance to accommodate the “3” tips. But other than that it was was straight forward. For what I picked it up for, I’m satisfied with the result in both the sound and appearance.

Sounds good! Probably my favorite mod I've done to my hatchback, though I replaced the tips for something more subtle. I'm running mine along with a catless dp and fp and it's still pretty quiet!

If a fk8 stock exhaust fit on fk7, does that mean aftermarket fk8 exhaust fits fk7s?

Is there a difference in pipe diameter from the FK7 stock down pipe to where the FK8 exhaust connects? Also, does this require a tune?

I used a Dremel with a thin cutting wheel and just took my time with it. Afterwards I put a fresh blade in my utility knife and clean all the edges off.

Do anyone know if the OEM Type R front pipe will fit onto the PRL downpipe for the FK7?

I found a fk8 exhaust and I was thinking of installing it in my fk7 1.5 euro. I have read that a little bit of a trim has to been done to the rear diffuser of the pre f/l models. I drive a 2020 model which has a different diffuser. Does anybody know if trimming is required for that as well.
If there isn't that kind of information, can somebody, who has a fk8 exhaust, measure the width of the three tips from one side to another?

IIRC, the type R exhaust won't fit the 2020 bumper/ "diffuser" because the opening is too small.

Correct you need a different diffuser. Abs dynamics sells a type r look alike. You can also bolt it up and try cutting. Aftermarket doesn't look at aerodynamics as well as Honda did.
