I just wanted to make a shout out to the people on this forum.

Specifically, @arpypat , @cafecito820 , @mjchristian , @charleswrivers , @gtman , and @JDMpo0kie

Whether it be thru fast, honest, and straight forward sales transactions ... or simply taking a moment to reach out thru a PM, regarding a comment I had made about an upcoming trip.

These folks (and many many other folks that I have watched on this forum) give countless and priceless bits of advice, and conduct themselves in the very highest levels of honesty and fairness, when selling parts that they are upgrading.

I can't vouch for EVERYONE on this forum, but I can say that I have been blown away by the level of community demonstrated by the people that make up this forum.

Thank you, forum members, for everything you contribute!

I’ve gotten a lot of good advice on this forum as well. I’m sure I’ll get more when I go K-tuner

wait.....no shoutout for me? *tear*
No slight was intended @Honda_RacerX ...

I tried to wrap many others, who's names I couldn't think of (at that moment) into the shout out with the following "These folks (and many many other folks that I have watched on this forum)"

I appreciate it... very much. I take it in as a way to pay back all the great advice I’ve gotten over the last 20 years on the web on several different forums.

A 16-17 year old me got started on his car craze by a bunch of very patient people over at Z31 using a dial up connection on an AOL account. I just like to try and pass it along as best as I can. Without them, I would have been hard pressed to pick a good (old, even for that time) used car and keep it running with what little $$$ I had.

Ha ha I can tell I'm older than you. At 17 there was no AOL, no internet, the age of Kajagoogoo, the culture club and Tear for Fears was coming to an end, Miami Vice was the number one show on TV, and Glam Rock was in full swing. I got my first computer in my 20's (Pentium 25 MHz with a whopping (drum roll) 8 MB of RAM!) My first internet connection was thru Earthlink, a 14.4 kbps dial up modem (Creative technology Modem Blaster). I spent lots of time on IRC, including lots of IRC wars taking over channels and trying to hold them!

I'm probably older than most here and just try to pass along what wisdom I have to steer folks in the right direction. Having run forums (message boards back then) since the 90's, I believe niche automotive sites like CivicX are all about knowledge and community and I help members as much as I can.

I know you and I are the same age, but @gtman just to give us a small clue about the era when you were around 17. when I was that age, Reagan had been re-elected the year before

Ha ha yeah, he must be a spoiled brat. My first car was a beat up 1975 VW Rabbit that was leaking oil and coolant. The brake spring was broken, I had to use my foot to bring it up after depressing it. It leaked oil in one of the cylinders, constantly fouling the spark plug. It had an electrical short, I never knew day to day, hour to hour if it was going to start. It idled so low that it would turn off after taking my foot off the gas, so I had to use a screw to hold the throttle to make it idle higher (home made mod!). I could go on and on...
