Hello there,

First time posting.

I have had my Type R for a little over 4 weeks now and after the 1st week I got a Check Systems and Rev Matching notification. They ran the code and found out that it was to do with my Turbo Bypass Valve. After driving in and out of the dealership for the next 2 weeks they were able to install a brand new turbo kit.

Worked fine for half of a day, then BANG. Same engine code.. Head office Honda now has to get involved so this could take weeks..

Has anyone else had this issue? or does anyone have any idea what the main cause could be?

Check the engine harness, more than likely what the problem is. Had many members have this issue.

I had the same problem (CEL and rev matching error). Right after hard accelerations, when releasing the gas pedal I could hear a turbo flutter. Other than this the car was working normally.
It is not exactly the problem described in the link above because I have the new wire harness and not the same error code. Mine was P2261. The rev matching error will come up every time an engine related problem will appear (...I think...)
The dealer ordered the solenoid and I had to wait 3 weeks for the part to come to Sweden.
One week before the repair at the dealer the CEL error suddendly disappeard and everything was ok. Even the rev matching was working. No more turbo flutter.
The dealee still wanted to change the solenoid. No more problems since then.

I have the exact same issue with the Turbo flutter. The dealer can't understand why it's happening as he installed a brand new Turbo Kit in the vehicle... Your problem literally went away by itself and the flutter was gone too? I'm starting to think it was an ECU issue...

Yes! Literally!

At the begining I had just the turbo flutter. My wife and my brother was enjoying the sound but I was a bit concerned because I know this shouldn't happen in a stock, new car. After some weeks I git the CEL and as it came so it disappeared. Suddendly. One week before the scheduled dealer appointmend.
A bad electrical contact?

Wow that's insane.. I think my dealer is booking in time with someone from Honda Head Office to find out the cause of the issue... I'm just praying it goes well.. I really don't want them to strip the car to find the issue. Made me sick when they mentioned that..

Same issue,
It happens to me between 2500-4000 rpm, shifting in 1st or 2nd gear, between 1-4psi of boost at about 200tq (cushion and sport mode).
It starts with cushion mode not rev matching..it just kinda works on and off.
The dealership put a new harness in and it worked perfect for a few days and now I'm back to the same issue.
I'm not sure why this happens..maybe a bad ground electrical connection...noise in the electrical system? or just a bad bov spring? I drive my car once a week, if that.
If ANYONE FIGURES IT OUT LET ME KNOW!

What else can you do? disable rev match?

Hello there,

My dealer finally found the issue and it's been perfect ever since. It turns out I had a faulty actuator and needed to replace it. Only 6 other cars had this issue so maybe ask the dealer to contact Honda to see if it's the same issue.

I received a P2261 code as well today. I've cleared the code for now. Also emailed my dealer.

Hi guys n gals,
I am having the same issue with mY Honda FK8. Its had a new turbo and a new solenoid and yet again pulling away from traffic lights the engine management light has come on with the Rev match. Error code P2261.
Now back with Honda and they can’t find any fault..

Can anyone help with what Honda need to do next so tired of it happening now and not having a car fit for purpose.
