Howdy y'all

Finally decided to make it happen and purchased my new 2020 Civic Si this evening. I'm kind of a car nut and have always wanted to own one of these. I love the new features Honda added for this model year (LED headlights, Honda sensing, shorter final drive ratio) and decided now is the time to pull the trigger. Once I get some more seat time behind the wheel I will post up my impressions. Here's a pic I snapped right after the test drive -

Congratulations! I'll be getting a coupe too.
Fiesta ST was another car I've considered in the past. But now I'm glad I waited [saved] for the 2020 Si.
I'd be curious to hear how the Si compares to the Fiesta ST.

Very nice! I've been driving and owned probably 10 Accords and Civics over the past few decades but never had an Si (always wanted one though). A couple of things..... I'd never experienced rev hang between shifts in any manual I'd ever owned and didn't even realize it existed before I got my 2019 Si Coupe. I initially thought I'd need to trade it in because it was pissing me off, but after 7000 miles I don't even notice it anymore. I guess it took my old brain (and old habits and attitudes) some time to adjust. Keeping the RPM up between shifts does improve economy and has benefits for the life of the engine as well. My shifter was pretty notchy right up until about 5000 miles. At that point, it really seemed to smooth out and now it's like pulling a hot knife through butter. Very pleased with the car overall and power in stock form. The fuel economy has been actually shocking (in a good way) and I'm getting right at 38 MPG in mixed driving....well over 40 MPG on the highway and right at 50 MPG on one highway trip recently. I only calculate mileage the right way - manually. The car's computer is always about 2 MPG on the optimistic side. The other quibble I have with my car is body panel fit which Honda seems to recently have issues with, as my driver's side door gap on the rear edge is quite large compared to the other side. I've learned to live with that because although it's covered under warranty, I really don't want a body shop pulling my new car apart to align it better.

Are my eyes fooling me or did the dealer chrome-delete your car for you? Good choice by them

The Fiesta is a hoot to drive as long as you are ok with the small cabin and cheap interior. I've put about 20k miles on it since I bought it new and have had no issues. GL with your 2020!

Thanks for sharing your observations. I did notice the rev hang during the test drive but figure it will become second nature after a few thousand miles. My Fiesta has some rev hang but seems like the Civic has it even more. I also felt like the shifter was extremely stiff but I attribute that to the car being brand new and expect it to loosen up after it gets driven some. Great to hear about your MPG's - that was definitely one of the main reasons why I bought it

Now that you mention it, it does look like the chrome trim is blacked out. Unfortunately it's just the angle/lighting in the pic as it does indeed have the chrome trim, something I am personally not too much a fan of. I may consider blacking out all the chrome on the car one day...

I like the chrome ... It matches the chrome on the wheels perfectly on my 2019. Great side view...

Congrats on your new SI! Noticed you owned a C7 ZO6. As a former owner of '00 Trans Am WS.6 and fan of the GM LS Series V8, the SI will leave a smile on your face. Some times miss the V8's I had, but after having the SI, I am happy with it!

Thanks y'all!

Ron R, I'm not letting go of my Z. Haven't been driving it as much though - been working on getting the Si broken in. I just cracked 300 miles yesterday - only 300 more to go!
