OEM, I've ended up with a K&N filter in nearly every car i've owned at some point along the way (2 of my 3 current cars have them), they really are more hassle then they are worth when it comes time to clean and oil them, I would rather just chunk the old filter and install a clean one in a matter of minutes.

I put an aem dryflow in. Easy install, easy to clean and does NOT require oiling

I agree, the oem filter is a really good filter. I stick to oem in both my civics. Plus when they get dirty you just throw it away and put a brand new one in. I don’t like reusing filters. They are throw away items. More convenient to

+1 for OEM. It's not just a cheap paper filter.

Agree, OEM intake & cabin filters annually or every 10k, amazed at how dirty they get. It's an easy DIY. I get mine from the dealership, total cost under $35, I won't pay for 5 minutes of work. The OEM filter is of excellent quality and it's composition is actually quite sophisticated.

Save the planet and get a dry flow filter (AEM and AFE). Less plastic and material to be thrown away. Don't listen to these guys polluting the world with the paper filters they change every 10k-12k miles. Less garbage on this already messy world we live in.
Cheers

Lol.....paper and plastic are both recyclable
And I do recycle both. A clean intake filter allows the engine to run cleaner & leaner, a clean cabin filter, in our area, is a necessity if you have allergies as I do, pollen levels as well as heavy diesel traffic ( central Pennsylvania is ground Central for truck terminals) clog the cabin filters very quickly.

Do you guys believe how KN filter "improves little performance" or is that just advertising?

If it does, the filter itself probably won't give u anything more than 5hp

They do improve performance, but people expect to much from them as with any performance part. It’s been proven you can get around 5hp. That might not be much, but it will let your engine breath a little better, and it adds up if you add any other performance part.

You definitely are not going to feel the difference. I would rather have the better filtering of the oem filter than the k&n filter that you can actually see light through. The oem filter is actually an oiled filter as well. The difference is in the material used. To me the oem is going to have the cleaner air going to your engine.

5 hp on a big engine that sucks a lot of air maybe. On a small engine I doubt you'd see 2

I never said paper and plastic is not recyclable.
Not every piece of plastic and paper is recycled...just look how the ocean is filled with plastic.
