Received the same (?) product advisory a few days ago. It’s for the AC condenser warranty extension (10 years) on the Civic.

That's good as my 2019 CTR AC struggles when it's in the nineties

Verified on Saturday that it is indeed the AC warranty extension. Good news for those living in hot summer climates

It only mentions 2016-2018 Civics in the letter. Unless you received a separate letter stating otherwise, call your dealer to confirm before going in for AC service. The hatch is made in England, so there's a difference.

Mine is a 2019 and and I live in the hot south and it doesn't help I have a black CTR. When temps got over 90+ the AC struggled to keep up
Took it to the Honda dealer and they checked the freon level. They say it has to be right on, not to much and not too little. I'm talking ounces.
Mine was off a bit and the AC improved after the service, but sometimes it can still struggled, especially if my car was parked outside in the sun for awhile. I will check with the Honda dealer for the 2019 AC extended warranty

One of the pitfalls of owning a black car. They look mean. But they absorb heat like crazy. I always wanted one, bought a black Si, and found out about owning that color in the summer heat!

Yes you are correct! I wanted a black CRT to help hide the non functioning plastic parts on the bumpers. The dealer had already installed really dark window tint, so that helps somewhat. I'm always looking for shady spots to park it in the summertime. My wife has a black Highlander and its AC gets real cool, even on hot SC days
so I do think something is up with my AC
Black cars do have that certain look ( when they are clean) and one of my all time favorites from the past that I've owned was a black on black single stage paint,1988 BMW M5

I find my ac to be adequate considering I live in socal. I found tinting your front window with a light tint, leaving your window crack open with door visor, and using a sunshade while park, really help to manage the heat in the car. Trust me I work out of my car. I got scared because it was a recall and I didn’t want to bring my car into the dealer. Good thing it just product advisory and if it fail they will take responsibility.

@19typeRblk You are right about it being weak. In all my Toyotas I have owned (including a 95 Corolla) the AC instantly cools the car, even when I was living in SoCal and travel to SoCal and the temp is high. I think with the Civic it's a combo of the dark color absorbing heat and the weaker AC. At least you can take it to the dealer to see if the AC condenser is the problem or not

Weak! I'll tell you about weak AC, my 78 911 SC!
Glad about this post, like you said, I can pester the Honda dealership again to check everything related to the AC Heard the lastest freon doesn't work that efficent. As you can see in the pic, my window tint is pretty dark. I always leave front windows slightly open when parked. And it would be good, as suggested for me to get the front windshield reflector

What a fricken beauty! Damn! Now I'm conflicted. In about 5 years or so I want to pick up a used Lexus IS F or RC, but also am considering a used CTR. Hopefully they won't appreciate like the Acura Type R or the S2000!

Didn't a Acura Type R sell for $68k at Barrett Jackson?? You cannot go wrong with any of your choices. That pic was taken at the dealership in Indianapolis and it was pouring down rain, so they put in in the shop to show me how things worked. I then had to drive back to SC in an absolute down pour!

An Acura Type R sold in September on Bring your Own Trailer for $82K! You probably won't find an S2000 anywhere under $30K

Wow, we are getting a bit off subject, but still crying that I sold my low milage E30 M3 eight years ago. Almost bough my neighbours S2000 (24k miles) was working on the deal when he suddenly passed and his Daughter snatched up!!

Crap, that would have been a great buy. The E30 would have eventually become a maintenance nightmare. My Helpdesk guy has a mid 2000 M3, at 100K he has already changed the head gasket
