Well maybe if they would punish dealers for the markups then these cars would move faster.
I put the blame on the consumer more than the dealer. There have been people on here that stated the car is worth the mark up or they had to pay the mark up like someone held a gun to their head rather than stay patient. That type of attitude is the reason why the markups exist. Less people are willing to pay the markup now and you're seeing dealers having to adjust and sell the car at MSRP in order to move inventory. This isn't the limited production car that everyone thought it would be initially so it doesn't make sense to still pay a mark up.

It's not as limited as people thought it would be. Locally, there's approximately 78 used and new Type R's available within a 75 mile radius of me.

I think Honda is aiming for 50k by the end of 2021. The more the better as far as spare parts for the current owners.

DING, DING, DING! We have a winner. The mod market for parts on this vehicle is the same. Dealers need to make money to pay for the 100s of employees they have. They are going to ask the most people are willing to pay. As soon as people got their head out of their wazoo and stopped paying ADMs. MSRP and below deals started happening. 100% BUYERS FAULT

My R# is 32XXX. I think your estimate is just a tad off...

I never stated it was an exact number, do you know what estimating is?

Why does it matter? You’d still be crying about it either way.

The longer the announcement for 2020 CTR waits, the more I think 2020 is the final model year for the CTR, at least on the 10th gen platform. Just my speculation

it kinda has to be the final year as the 5 year model cycle Honda uses means that 2020 will be the last iteration of gen 10. And I wouldn’t expect anything radical on a final year of any given model.

Where is this information from? I only see about 400 on cars.com. Is there another site that has better info?
CarGurus.com is another site you could check for the nationwide numbers. That's been the popular site for dealers and private parties for quite some time now. You also have to take into account the dealers that aren't listing the Type Rs on any other site other than their own and Honda. The number might actually be higher. I know a dealer that has 2 in stock and doesnt have them listed on either of the mentioned sites.
