Hey all. Looking to delve into the performance side of mods now that I’ve added a strut bar, rear sway bar, and rmm. Would you suggest the Prl cobra intake (street maf for now) or the Injen SP intake? I know that they both make pretty similar power gains, but which one gives more of that boosty/blow off sound we all love?

PRL Hands Down. If PRL was a fine steak house, then Injen would be McDonald's.

Hahah so much shade. Thank you for putting into perspective
Well, to elaborate; Injen put this whistle tube in their CAI that disrupts the air flow in a way that's not always predictable. As a result, the MAF has trouble adjusting. This causes fuel trims to fluctuate in a way that's not stable and/or safe for the longevity of the vehicle. Many tuners have suggested clients get rid of them as they're straight up garbage.

Pretty sure Vit, Derek, Hondata, and Ktuner have all released statements or maps dealing with the quality control issues and potential skew of the MAF readings when using the Injen intake. I'm not about to start searching posts but it's something to try.

Injen CAI would be more like McDonald's gone bad. As Nancy Reagan would have told you, just say no!

Are you shooting for mostly sound or power gains? If you want sound, get their stage 1. You want power gains? Ktuner with tsp stage 1 tune. Best bang for your buck. Just my 2 cents.

PRL was my choice. In fact, I have a Cobra with Race MAF for sale. Near new condition. DM me if interested.

I’ve been dying to get ktuner but I’m still only 7k miles and 4 months in so I want to wait till I’m at least halfway through my 60k warranty. I’ll probably go with prl street maf then upgrade to race when I finally go all in. I’m just gonna stick to upgrades that I can do without a tuner for now. Then really tap into them later with the tune. Probably go for greddy exhaust next. Sounds nice without being overbearingly loud. I just want something aggressive

That works man! You’ll be alright with the warranty thing and a ktuner. It’s a misconception. I work at a Honda dealer and I did a lot of research and asking. I got my ktuner 500mi in haha but anyway, you’ll get plenty of awesome turbo noises from that intake and take a look at the ark exhaust. I’m with you on good sound but not overbearing. I’ve heard a lot of good things and they’re not as expensive as the more popular ones.

I got my tunes at about 6k miles and it made such a great improvement even with everything else stock. I just put a black ceramic coated RV6 FP/DP on along with the MAPerformance full race exhaust and it sounds INCREDIBLE! The car sounds so mean and good now with that upgrade. I’m in love with it. Unfortunately after 4 hours of the exhaust install and driving the exhaust part after the muffler came off the exhaust hanger and banged it up pretty bad. I was able to fix it to a pint where there are no exhaust leaks or anything and it still sounds phenomenal.

My next mod is the CAI and after reading this thread it looks like PRL is the way to go. Hoping to have that installed by thanksgiving.

Do not buy an Injen.

Injen and PRL.
That's like comparing a pile of shit, and literal diamonds.
