(SI / Hatch / R) Why has no company made replacements for our ugly fake rear vents?

Let’s revive this thread. I would be down for some actual mesh for the front and rear. I’ve seen some members cutting them but I understand it’s a PITA to do. I would get them for the CTR, Si sedan and Si Coupe

I don’t think it would be terrible with a dremel tool or a drill bit to just make them functional but not full mesh. Those are just ideas I’ve had with it - someone on insta just took them out and it looks decent but he has a full track build

Top1motors has replacement rear vents for the R. Some people are custom making ones for the non Rs now.

I just looked at that sites and the fake vents look better

I saw this at Sema, but couldn't find any leads, probably custom

I did this myself with a step drill bit and a dremel. It did take me a little more than half of my Sunday to get it done. Then I went to Home Depot to get a piece of gutter guard mesh to layer it up. Total cost is about ~$20.
