2018 Type R hood ding/paint chip

I had my car for 2 months before I got my first rock chip. I drive the highway every day to and from work so it’s inevitable. I have 2 paint chips and dents in the hood of my car. the good part is you can only see them when it’s clean. Does anyone else have road/track damage to your Type R? I will post picture tomorrow of hood.

I’m going to PPF the front bumper and full hood. I was wondering how much damage do you see in the front fenders.

I don't have the fk8..but have the sport hatch.and after 1 day got a tiny rock chip on passenger side of the hood.. barely noticeable..but I notice it..Swear Honda needs do a better job, which is weird considering they use pearl paints that are pricey..smh

Front fenders aren’t bad no chips so far. I’ve replaced my window (with factory glass)after a rock cracked it.

I had full front done, plus mirrors, black plastic trim between doors, and door handle cups.

Price to do the fenders is worth it, this is a large area that will get chips. Plus with these self healing films you can scrub harder to get bugs off without scratching.

Side skirts should be done also in PPF. I had them done in ceramic with the rest of the car. Ceramic does not offer enough protection from scuffing while getting in/out of car.

I had someone with a truck open their door and hit my door. They chipped the side molding and scratch a little bit of the door paint.I went through insurance for this damage and it was estimated to be $423. They have to replace the side molding and buff the scratch out. You wouldn’t imagine something so small will cost so much. Be careful guys when opening your doors. You don’t know if the owner happen to be in the car or nearby.

I managed to push a good dent out made from a stone from the underside of the hood. Very carefully of course. Its easy to go too far. The gouge is still there but at least the awful reflection of the dent is gone
Also My 8th gen si had been in a massive hail storm with 300+ dings all over it. 2 months old to boot. I was only 18 at the time and it killed me to see my car like that. They were all pushed out amazingly. Would of even known it happened.

Have ppf Installed and a rock chip hits exactly at the lip and caused a bubble And some paint missing smh...

Mine's a 2019 championship white. When I first got it I was going to wrap it to protect the paint, but I said it was too pricey. Fast forward to November 2020 and im regretting not doing it big time. This paint is terrible because it's water-based. It's basically so thin and brittle that anything that hits it just makes it crack off
