Crate FK8 Engine: Has anyone done it?

Makes sense. The front end would have to be obliterated to have impact on the engine. Even if repaired, that car would never be the same. Likely some frame twisting or bending, somewhere.

Curious- would insurance cover over revving an engine? Granted it's the drivers fault, but what happens then?

Curious- would insurance cover over revving an engine? Granted it's the drivers fault, but what happens then?
Pretty sure comprehensive only covers damages from external forces and not from driver negligence, I assume. Out of pocket most likely.

True, but you’re covered if you cause an accident. Totally driver error, even if the car plows into nothing else but a tree. Seems odd all driver errors aren’t covered.

But that's covered under "collision". I believe "comprehensive" covers incidents only from external factors (like vandalism, hail, earthquakes, etc).

It's been a while since I've handled these types of claims but I believe there is typically and exclusion on most auto policies for "mechanical breakdown" or something along those lines.

100% correct. If you read through your policy (no one does, lol) it specifically lists the hazards covered under comprehensive.
