I was hoping someone could tell me which years/trims do not have Honda Sensing? I know the 17 Sport HB doesn't, main reason I got it. Don't want it and I'm looking to possibly trade in my car for another possibly newer Civic in the color I want, just need to find out which cars I should be looking at. Thanks!

19 si is the only "brand new" ones without sensing

Why such an aversion to sensing? Most companies have some form of it standard. So after this generation of car, any car worth itā€™s metal will have it. Why stay stuck in the past? If you donā€™t like it 90% of it can be turned off. Just curious. Iā€™ve seen this style post recently and have wondered why people hate it so much they would forgo a new car just to get an older one. I mean with all the new features in a car. These have been tried and true for a while now

The US Type R has no Sensing since day one (2017-2019). Not sure about 2020 ā€˜cus itā€™s not out yet. Come join the fun club.

Not the OP, but I don't like sensing packages because it is one more thing to break. Bumper gets a little dirty? Dash lights up like a Christmas tree. Not to mention I'm averse to anything that can hamper my control of the car, so any software that can turn the wheel or apply the brakes is unwelcome.

That's my reason. It's bad enough having to have someone reprogram your passenger mirror if something happens to that. The less reliant I am on Honda service, the better.

I guess I get that. But I mean the ā€œless stuff the breakā€ mantra is getting outdated quickly. Most modern cars are FULL of electronics and extra stuff that wasnā€™t even available 10 years ago. So pretty soon even base models will have it so you are just postponing the inevitable. Might as well get some use out of some nice features and a break on your insurance due to al the extra safety features.

I plan on turning off lane keep and road mitagation (unless Iā€™m on like a long road trip) but the radar cruise and braking are nice things to have or can potentially save your car or a pedestrians life.

In the three cars I've had as loaners, it didn't work every time with any of them, that's enough for me not to trust it.

thats one thing i wish my hatchback had in 2017 when they just rolled out. i couldnt wait until 5 months later the models came with it.

and i LOVE lane watch. its easier and a lot better than the sensors imo. the sensors dont turn on until a cars literally on your bumper.

All 2016-2018 Civics (except Si) had sensing available. The touring (sedan and coupe) and sport touring (hatch) models had it standard. 2019-up hatchbacks, coupes and sedans have sensing on all trims, except for the 2019 Si (2020 does have it). Type R does not have sensing on any model year. If you are looking at any used 2018's (the newest model without sensing standard), you will need to look at pics or the car in person to see if it has sensing. It will have the radar sensor in the front drivers side fog light area and the camera up by the rear view mirror.

When my Sensing camera failed; just about every error possible began to flash on the cluster (and the incessant gong). There was no way to turn it off or mute the gong (according to the service dude). Start to finish; it took 30 days and 3 trips to Honda to make it right. And this was something that I didn't want in the first place. Plus... having the Sensing generally means that you cannot easily replace the stereo. Thumbs down for me.

And all these accessories cost more to repair in case of accident, the insurance of the car will be higher

Lane watch is probably my favorite feature on this car tbh
