What did you say on your email to them? Should I tell them how much I wanna purchased the car upfront? I wanna get the touring as close to $26K ODT or better. I'm going to start emailing dealerships around end of the month or wait til 4th of July for deals. Thanks.
I used a throw-away email so I don't have the exact phrasing but I kept pretty short.

I basically just provided the exact model and trim I was looking for along with the color preferences.
I also told them I didn't qualify for the military or student incentives so those were not to be included.
Any add-ons that raised the price would be considered but I would only be comparing OTD prices.
For financing, I told them the terms of my credit union's pre-approved loan in case they could do better there, too.

I also included the date I would be making a purchase.

I don't think there's an advantage by sharing your target price with dealers.
Just work them down then sign with whoever gives you the best quote.

Hey guys! Live in Los Angeles. Best offer I can get in a EX-T with Honda Sensing is $23,500. Think that's a good price?

Out the door? I paid 22,800 OTD for one without sensing so 23,500 is a good price if that is your final price inclusive of everything (TTL).

I bought one with the same specs in Orange County, with the same price. This must be the standard internet price. I didn't offer any dealers to try to beat it so I suppose it's not the best price you can get.

Good price. I got the EX-T w/Honda Sensing OTD, no trade-in, for 23476.76 and my sales tax is 9.5%. If my sales tax was 9% (like in most of LA County) the price would have been nearly 106 less. My price was 21099 w/ destination chg.

I feel giving out the price (with destination charge) is better in addition to OTD or TTL since sales tax and fees vary from city to city, county to county, state to state.

bought mine at Stockton Honda. got an ePrice from them. when i bought it they had their "dealer installed " Pro Pak of wheel locks, splash guards and all weather cargo tray but i had previously told them i didn't want any "dealer installed accessories". they didn't put up much of a fight and did not charge me for them.

Hi all, a newbie here.

Just want to see if anyone got any good offer close to the July 4th weekend. I have been getting quote as follows:

1. EX with sensing: 19,604 +TTL
2. EX-T without sensing: 20,000 (this one tried to push on the add on protection package for 1,900 on top - which I still tried to tell them I don't need) + TTL.

What do you think of these offers? I know these are not comparable, but they are about the same price but one with honda sensing and one with turbo engine. I am leaning toward the EX-T.

Thanks.

I've been made an offer of 25,485 + $99 document fee for a black (black/ivory interior) touring coupe (lowest out of about 12 dealers that have replied so far that are within a 250 mile area). I do have a trade in which might lower it another couple thousand which will put me at what I was looking at paying OTD. Should I be pulling out the lube or does this price sound reasonable for the touring coupes at this time, even though they've been on the market since March?

Since I'd be driving 2 1/2 hours if I was to accept this deal, any feedback would be greatly appreciated. :)

Having a trade in always complicates the deal.

All dealers can then- manipulate the trade so- really any dealer within a few "Ben Franklin's" is really in the mix- so it just comes down to- who you feel more comfortable with in your previous dealings- just my two cents...

Yeah, you're probably right on that. I'm gonna try and get him lower, all he can do is say no and I don't have to say yes if I don't like the price. :) I'm gonna take a breath and be patient.

I just put a deposit down for the Cosmic Blue Civic Touring Sedan, at a price of $24,750 with $835 destination included in that price. It took some haggling with the initial dealer because they said they pay $24,600 and destination on top of that, but I held firm and they agreed to it. Tax and tags separate, which here in PA, for a 3 yr 36K mi lease, we get dinged with 9% (6% PA sales tax and 3% use tax), however that is only on the rent charge of $11,687 for 3 years.

I presented this price via email to 2 other different dealers in the area, and they all agreed to it without too much back and forth. One dealer asked me to provide a sales slip.

I think buyers in CA or near can get even lower, according to Truecar.com.

Happy Negotiating!
