That is exactly what I tapped. If you buy the OEM mirror harnesses from a touring model to use the plugs and wiring for the housing LED (which also the Mugen mirror harnesses plug into), the pink wire is positive and purple wire is negative. For the negative wire, I tapped the black wire in the door harness. For the positive wire, I ran it with the door harness into the cabin. I tapped the respective wires going into the fuse box per that post you got the pics from.

PM if you have any other questions regarding parts needed and install.
I appreciate it, and thank you for clarifying this!

Can't recall that, but you're right, they look identical, and I'm not sure if it matters... So try your best to put it back in the way it was

I wish it was that easy...
I have the European power folding mirrors on my Type R, so I don't have a factory heated mirror situation but I'd really like to.
I have the power fold function, mirror movement, and turn signals figured out but the Blind Spot Monitoring and De-mister or defroster have me slightly stuck.

That's tricky... But once that part is figured, your R will be loaded.
I've just did a quick Google search and found this...
Honda Civic 10th gen Mugen Hydrophilic LED mirror - Install Screenshot_2019-10-25-23-59-45

I know it's a VW forum, but my silly guess is if both connectors on the Civic looks the same ,perhaps it really doesn't matter, or if it matters, it may just not heat up when you test it and switch over will fix it?

Where are you running the power from?
And how are you making blind spot Monitoring possible?

Where did you get the euro mirrors? I'm wanting to get a pair and install them as well.
And I didn't know that the euro ones had blind spot monitoring? Do the US models even have the hardware to have that work? Sorry if the questions seems stupid.

It would be easier if the wires were different colors...but I swear in my mirrors, both wires going to the heater are black with white stripe! I'll have to take a picture and see if the color changes 'under the lights.'

I order them - I sell them on the website www.bturismo.com. I have a set that was damaged in transit that I'll be putting on Ebay here shortly... definitely fixable. They're sold as 'Shipped to anywhere in North America' and come direct from Europe.

US models do not have the necessary hardware and I'll have to hobble it together. The new Accord has Blind Spot Monitoring so I can get the radars from an Accord but apparently they communicate a over CANBUS to the BCM...so if there isn't a hardwire signal or a method of deriving a signal, then I"m pretty much boned unless someone has figured out a way to reprogram the BCM to add features! (@Hondata or @KTuner ) I'm not sure what happens if you start adding devices on the CAN but I suspect it will be rather confused. I met briefly with honda Service and honda tech at my local dealer to discuss and they indicated they have no ability to add in features to the BCM...I don't think I can use a European BCM because of the immobilizer.

The last option I seem to have - on AMAZON you can buy an aftermarket kit for tow rigs or whatever that gives you Blind Spot Monitoring...don't see why I couldn't use that kit but instead of the included indicators, just wire them to my mirror indicators.

I wish the BSM radar was built into the mirror assembly...but that would raise the cost disproportionately.

Are you guys talking about powering the heat feature of the mirror?
Did you guys made a switch or it turn on with the rear window heater?

I didn't do mine yet but to function like OEM, they should turn on with the rear defroster. The factory switchgear from Europe shows a dual-purpose button on the dash.

Any tips for getting mirror cover off? Felt like I was going to break a clip trying to get it off.

Which piece are you trying to take off? I know it's not much helpful if I just tell you to take it slow. Knowing where the taps are would definitely boost confidence :)
