I just had Garrett intercooler installed. There will be an article on MotoIQ write up coming out shortly

They ask me to remove my tune when I let them test the Garrett intercooler. After installed and they told me of coursed the charge temp went down and it definitely need supporting mods to maximize or to see any significant gains. Heat soak should be brought down as well. It does fill the grill a lot more and gives a better contrast. I installed the back the Ktuner and I cannot tell the difference with the intercooler though
Very cool! Let us know if you feel any difference with time, and if you can get data for your IAT.

i updated for you
Awesome thanks! Over time, I would expect you to notice less heat soak after some heavy throttlin’. Keep an eye on the IAT’s and keep us posted.

Do you know the price for this IC and when it will be for sale?

@Pekingduck when youre driving normally or spirited, what did your IAT get to lowest?

If I understand it correctly your IAT2s are the temps post intercooler, but unfortunately the IATs control ignition retardation so even if your cooler was cooling to sub 100f youre probably running 3-4deg of ignition retard with those IATs.

Can you record a log for 1-2min of driving only AFTER the car has been properly warmed up lightly heat soaked, so not when its fresh and barely warmed up. Im talking about warmed up, parked to do a chore, then drove again for 2-3min BEFORE logging 1-2mins of driving, stop and go, whatever. Just not hwy. (you can log hwy too just IATs are bound to be lower due to air movement and speed)

Make sure you log

iat
Iat2
Ect2
Knock ctrl
Knock retard
Ignition timing

among other things. Thank you. This would show us a clearer picture rather than one photo giving us one data point.

you have to look at IAT2, which is the charged air post Intercooler. IAT is the temp from the Intake

Yes, iat2 will show you how well your ic is working but id monitor iats too cuz your timing depends on that.

Just beat on my car after filling up, made it knock 2.11 too. But heres a few screenshots of before pulling into the gas station, then right after fire up at gas station and then right before i parked at home. Notice how my iats are never > than my imts (iat2s). And as i boost and get on it the delta between two decreases and they almost become same number. (Ambient 76f)

Is this intercooler coming from the same company spun off of Honeywell and developing that electric turbo?
