Volume was good with just the muffler delete alone, but when the Downpipe and Front Pipe were added it had to go because it was unbearably loud. Tone was ok until I realized that it can't compare to a dedicated exhaust that's been made for the application.

I've been super busy lately to edit the clips, but if you want to hear individually (preferably with headphones), here's my Instagram post:

Thanks man! I've done my best to document everything :)

The Si has a lot of hidden talent that can be uncovered easily with just wheels and tires alone. The rest is just my take on the ultimate expression of what it can be!

I am working in changing the front brakes rotors and pads though not BBK. The stocks feel weak. I am going with EBC kit slotted rotors and yellow stuff pads. Kit is like $180 for me. The front rotors seem to be warped a bit. I can feel the vibration on the highway as I brake.

Solid upgrade! Goodridge does SS Lines that I think would be an awesome addition as well. If you go back a few pages you can find the part number I posted, they're direct fit for the Front & Rear Si brakes, that also work with the Genesis Brembo calipers.

I found Suma Performance recently here on the forum, and didn't need much convincing because I was already thinking about wide angle side mirrors. I looked into the brand and saw that a lot of Subaru owners gave positive reviews, and they're starting to gain visibility (pun intended :D) in the 10th Gen Civic market! The reason for my search was unnerving left lane changes if I am in the middle or right lane, especially the fear that another car may merge into the middle lane from the left lane while I'm also looking to move into it from the right. Before anyone jumps the gun, I've tried the recommended adjustments for side mirrors to reduce/eliminate blind spots but this is about increasing my overall field of view, not just a particular spot.

Top is my friend's Si with the OE Mirrors, and bottom is my Si parked in almost 100% the identical spot right after.

What's appealing is that these are full replacements, not stick-on replacements. The OE mirrors pop off easily, swap the electric motor's mounting parts, and then place back on. Here's a full install video that I did:

What I also liked about them is that the blue anti-glare look isn't achieved by a film as other mirrors on the market are doing, it's the gel coating embedded into the glass during the manufacturing process. These are not on the cheaper side of the spectrum if one wants to write it off as "it's just glass" - but when you consider that your insurance deductible is likely $500 or $1,000, and then anyone who has big $$$$ into their Civic like I do then the value proposition suddenly presents itself very loud and clear.

3 versions are available: http://bit.ly/WideAngleMirrors
- Basic
- Defrost (what I chose)
- Defrost + Turn signal (wiring kit included splices into the headlight wiring)

The difference is sublime! I've had them for about 2 weeks, adjusted to the wider field of vision within a day and can say I feel more comfortable knowing what's around me at all times and making lane changes :)

I agree. I like my Suma side mirrors so much I got the rear view too. Although it decreases rear view distance (it's also concave), the anti glare makes it totally worth it

That's next on my list! Got it for a friend, and yeah they're awesome too! I do use the Lane Watch, sometimes just leaving it in ON position through the button on the turn stalk; wish it came on both sides however because Hyundai saw what Honda was doing and has started introducing it in their cars.

Per AutoGuide: https://www.autoguide.com/manufacturer/hyundai/2020-hyundai-sonata-first-drive-review
"That gauge cluster will even feature a live feed of what’s happening beside the car when you flick the lane change indicator. It’s like Honda’s lane-watch system for both sides of the car and it’s a totally cool tech demo."

I wish it was on both as well. The lag activating is annoying though. I turned it off since getting the side mirrors and only use it manually now

Whiteline 22mm RSB is in along with the Accord End Links! 18mm is the Si stock Si RSB for reference.

Initial driving thoughts are the rear feels more tighter and willing to rotate happily with the front end, rather than getting dragged by it. I'll be out on track again on the 29th to put it to the test :)

Did you use the harder of softer setting on the Whiteline RSB? I'll be installing mine with the WL rear end links, hopefully soon.

Softer setting; I already have a Ultra Racing Trunk Brace installed, and Rear Torsion Bar that will be going in soon so I don't want to over do it with the stiff setting. Balancing it out with the already installed Front Strut Bar by Ultra Racing, and Front Power Brace to be installed as well. Whiteline Anti Lift Kit also on the way so I'm really looking forward to how this car will be on track next season!!

Two words.

Amazing build.
Thank you sir! Hoping to really push the 1.5 platform in other ways than just power. That route others will be way ahead of me, but not saying that a 27won W1 isn't planned for the future. CTR retrofit clutch and upgraded CMC are going in next week because the stock clutch is getting a little tired now with FBO mods. A few more updates, but just haven't the time to share lately with other things on the go

Late update, and a bit of a Copy and Paste from the AWE thread but posting here for visibility:

Got the chance to install the Touring version with Diamond Black Triple Tips! Will advise that the box could have fit in my Sedan if it weren't for my Ultra Racing Trunk Brace that blocks the pass-through partially. Not a problem, just unpacked and wrapped up the individual pieces with the packing material.

The quality... welds were thick and well done so I can't ever see any cracks happening for the life of the car under normal circumstances. We took off the Invidia R400, and the 27won Front Pipe as well because AWE provides their own 3" front pipe that mates with the full 3" exhaust.

Before I get to AWE review, here's what I've had in the past in order:
  • Muffler Delete style setup with 2.5" piping all the way, reusing the stock resonator.
  • Got a Catted 27won DP + FP, and immediately the muffler delete setup was way too loud and raspy so I traded it + cash from my end for a Magnaflow catback. Great but didn't like the double tip design.
  • Took the Magnaflow off, and got an Invidia R400... stellar on throttle but quiet at idle. Triple tips looked great but didn't fill up the 14.5" gap at the rear so it kind of bothered me, plus just wanted a little more exhaust sound.
  • AWE announces their entry a month later into the 10th Gen Civic market... oh boy, I know from my Euro days that these guys put out some beastly systems! Alright, well let's give this a go and put up the Invidia for sale. After putting about 500kms on this relatively straight through exhaust the decibel level is in between the muffler delete setup, and the way too loud DP + FP + Muffler Delete. The tone however is definitely tuned for the application as it doesn't sound like a tractor or too raspy, as the trick to their system is their 180 Technology muffler that keeps out certain sound wave lengths that also really tame the decibel level at cruise for an enjoyable ride. I love how at partial throttle in any gear I can hear a ton of burbles, and occasionally I get a backfire in between shifts
Let me try to rate my two favorite setups, the AWE and the Invidia on a scale level of 1 to 10; 1 being quietest and 10 being highest here's how they would stack up... Invidia is a 3 in normal conditions, and 6 at WOT - it's the sound of rushing air mostly but in a good way. AWE is is 4 at normal conditions and 8 at WOT - definitely a rowdy system that puts a smile on your face :D

Hope that helps, it really comes down to personal preference, I think both are awesome! AWE's is more characterful and suited for me as I felt the Invidia lacked some drama. It would be nice to hear these two setups without the upgraded downpipes as I feel both would certainly be a point or two lower on my makeshift scale above.

---

You'll notice the Dual and Triple Tip setups. AWE sent me the Dual tip setup for pictures, the Triple will be the one that will stay.

The 3 Front Pipe's for comparison. Stock vs. 27won 2.5" Polished vs. AWE 3" required to install their exhaust and comes as a part of the package

I took videos in a 1080p at 60FPS format, and still can't explain why the entire video was choppy but the sound was captured fine. Will have to revisit soon and get those clips :)

Car's on the lift this week getting the CTR Retrofit installed!
