How long did your brakes last?

Just wondering how much life the Si brakes get on average. I know some people swap out their pads/rotors well before they need to but I'm looking for people who replaced them due to them being worn down to the last bits.

I'm at 35k and still have quite a bit of meat left on my pads as I do a lot of highway driving. Just curious.

Track driving gets your pads down to nothing real quick! My front pads were done after 20k miles, that included 2x AutoX sessions, and 1x Track Day. The Front Rotors still have life but I switched to a Brembo setup so they're sitting in a box.

The rears are so underworked in this car that they've last 27k miles, 4x AutoX events, and 4x Track Days. I can tell they're getting tired so I have slotted Stoptech rear rotors + Type R rear pads waiting to go on in the Spring. Word is that a rear BBK with integrated EPB is being released at SEMA next month. Can't recall by who, but let's see.

47k still on the original pads and rotors, all the way around. They still have a ok amount of meat left on the pads. I'll be throwing some slotted rotors and hawk pads on the front and rear soonish.

Damn nearly 50k and they're still good? Any rotor warp? I have a slight pulsing up front. Nothing worth fixing though.

As far as I can tell! Still a passable amount of pad on them. Fronts are worse then the back. No issues with squeaking or hiccups, unless I'm slamming on them. Which I've only done once when someone decided to shoot through a stop sign, getting across the road. I was doing 50. My 255s did most of the work  I wasn't going to stop before T boning them. They pulled out with about 5 car lengths, between me and them.

I never wish to be sideways in that manner again :puke:

I'm at 16k, and I've had grinding noises for a solid 2500 miles. The dealer said it was due to excess rust buildup, which on a 16k car is utter bulls***. They've ground them down "as a courtesy", but American Honda just tells me it's a wear and tear item and I'm SOL.

At about 52K my rotors warped. Still plenty of pad left though. Not sure why they warped as I'm not hard on the brakes and most of my miles are highway miles.

It’s possible that you got into a hilly area and the rotors got pretty hot. I heard that if your pads and rotors get super hot and you put the parking brake on or hold the brake pedal in, it can leave some brake pad material stamped on the rotor. Then that can cause uneven wear over time.
I have a little bit of vibration around 45-50 mph when i brake lightly.

The only acceptable time for brake noise due to rust is when the car has sat for a day after rain fall and a thin layer of surface rust has been laid down on the rotors... and that goes away as soon as you hit the brakes the first time.

... As usual, sounds like the dealership is full of it

I hope it's 27WON. I'm contemplating picking up their front BBK after I get wheels next year :D
