I saw there's a dealer on Fb that said they have a 2020 on order and the color is "Boosted Blue"... Anyone know what that looks like?? He also said no Phoenix Yellow.... Take it for what it is...!

Dealers in general don't really know anything. It would be odd to release a completely new blue for the CTR this year when it's been using a blue common to the rest of the Civic lineup since 2017.

Yeah I definitely always take dealers with a huge grain of salt. He really seemed to be 100% sure as in he saw the info on the order screen. I guess it's supposed to be similar to the Focus RS blue. And I'm assuming if it really is true it would replace Agean but who knows.

I can certainly be wrong, it would just feel like an odd choice for Honda.

2020s are not out yet. Honda is still shipping 2019s. The dealer is lying to you if he said they have a 2020 coming.

Gotcha, yeah I just figured info would start trickling out by now... I took delivery of my 2019 in November last year so I thought by now that stuff would be showing up on the computer.

Type r's go to dealers on something like a lottery system. They only know what they're getting shortly before it arrives. Currently the only thing shipping are 19s. In addition, we have not received any training materials or information regarding 2020 type R's. We probably won't see them until a little way into 2020.

Out of curiosity... isn't this time of year when the 2020s should start shipping? Or does Honda actually push new model years into the new year?

I figured if anything, 2020s would start being loaded on trains this week or next, and delivered out to dealerships to be available starting mid November. I'm guessing that's not how Honda does it?

I was under the impression that the 2017 CTR started shipping in late 2016. I also figured if that was the case, Honda would likely do the same, every year.

You are correct. At least for the last two years it seems. I took delivery of my 2019 in November of last year. I had the Vin # and build date in early October. Everything about the 2019 was already known by this time last year.

This is not true. If you dig back to the posts between march and july 2017 when the Type Rs were coming out. There was a dealer posting IN system sheets of the vins and which dealers where getting them when and what color (even though said dealers said they knew nothing). I knew which dealer was getting my color and the vin 2 months before delivery. New Rs have come out around third week of november. Which is less than a month away. The 2019s we had almost no info on them until the day they went on sale. I can bet you they are now producing 2020s because it takes a month or more to get them shipped here through customs and to the dealers. Usually about 2 months. So unless Hondas gonna actually sell the 2020 in 2020 (which they never had) I would say it's safe to say they are being produced now (or at least in the next few days as it is the end of october and we only have 2 months left in the year) for the US market. And dealers (not nessiasariay salesmen) Know whats they are getting first round by now. And I have always Maintained that yellow would not come. Even though there are those of us that like it, bright colors are not a big seller in the US. Out of the 6 colors we have now I think the red and blue are the lowest sellers. Americans like dark drab plain colors. just look at any stop light. nothing but black white and some form of grey or darn near black version of blue.

And I would doubt there is much training involved for the 2020s anyway. Its gonna be the same car with visual facelifts (vents)

Not arguing but if you take the time to go through threads from march to july of 2017 youll see what Im talking about. In fact I have been here since the start and we had many threads were people getting run around from dealers saying they had no info or blah blah bah.. we had our secret inside man posting the entire iN system of what was coming where. Again not saying you are right or I am right I am just speaking fasts as they were in 2017 release. I also know I had a copy of my cars vin, ship date, color, and arrival in my hand at the dealer who claimed they had no idea on the info. We even had info on the tracking and transport of the cars. Yet the dealers all swore they knew nothing about the cars.
