Good day,

I joined this forum some time ago. Planned to buy a CTR, but then had some family issues. Nothing bad, just stuff in the way.

Now, ready to purchase my CTR. For real. Got a good offer in Tampa area: MSRP plus 600 ADM (down from 10K lol), and they offered me about 1500 more on trade in than private sale was worth. So basically, less than msrp. Deals are out there. I am in NO rush to purchase and I can pay cash for it or take a loan.

Requesting all y'alls opinion. I don't know when the 2020 model is coming out. But I got a great deal on SWMBO's car (acura) some years ago on 30 DEC. Dealership was dying to get one last sale of the month/year. That said, any thoughts about hard dealing on this vehicle end of December? Or maybe wait until release of the 2020 model and deal hard on left over 2019 model?

I am in good position with an excellent BATNA.

I mean I was at an event today talking prices with FK8 owners and 4 out of 5 paid $37/8k OTD. At a minimum you be able to get MSRP without destination. Also October started the new fiscal year for them if I’m not mistaken. They want units moved ASAP. You’re money though. Do as you see fit.

The 2019 is a great car.

We don't know what the 2020s will look like, but Sensing is probably likely. If you can live without ACC (you can) a 2019 is a great choice.

I am currently driving a Honda Fit (I know, horrid). The ACC is easily one of the most annoying features. Not as bad as the passenger side camera, though.

I really doubt any dealer is going to change the deal they give on a CTR just because it's the end of the year, but I could be wrong. The question is always best answered by are you happy with/okay with the price and features of the car you're looking at. There's been no official word on anything major coming to the 2020 CTR, the only thing you can probably bank on is it getting the new fake vent style that the 2020 hatch and Si have gotten, after that...MAYBE we get Phoenix Yellow since it's been spotted on test mules, but you can bet your ass you're not getting one of those at MSRP. Sensing and anything else is pure speculation as far as I've seen. So ask yourself if the price you're being offered and what that works out to monthly for you is a number you're okay with and if the prospect of different fake vent covers and nebulous rumors are enough to make you unhappy with the 2019.

I kinda wish the US model had sensing, but having never had a car that had something like it, I don't miss it and I have loved driving this car for the last 10 months so I know for me the wait wouldn't have been worth it.

Just throwing this out there for consideration.
The 2019 CTR debuted November of last year. I'm assuming the 2020 will be shown around the same time.
Might be worth waiting to see.
But that current deal you have is great, ESPECIALLY if its the color you want.

I didnt have a choice when it came to color. It was either black or pay a crazy ADM.

Goodluck!

Unless you have horrendous credit i would never pay cash for a car. Put some down and invest the rest into something that has a return thats higher than your interest rate.
