2017 SI stock with 61,000 mi Engine Failure!

Should I simply accept their offer to cover cost at 90% with 30K warrenty?

Well, after reading what has been said I would say to take the car to the dealership - pay the money asked -- get the car fixed and go on with your life. It's rare that Samson beats Goliath.
Actually its not all that uncommon. People just don't often stand their ground or are some how slightly in the wrong in the back of their own mind.

Is the 1.5L Turbo in the Si "made in USA" or is it "made in Thailand" like the 1.5 in my 2018 Civic Sport HB??

Either way it IS a very small and "stressed" engine with 20+ pounds of Boost

Update:

Got the car back. Easing her in to 1k before I push the throttle.

So in summary we paid about $850 and have a 12,000 mi warranty.

And dear god people, I am sorry I didnt get the facts straight on the first post. Try being jet lagged, frustrated, have not 1, not 2, but 3 family crisis going on at the same time. Who was driving it was a small detail. What mattered is she brought the car in for an oil change and after a very short distance the engine failed. We paid 850 for a new engine with 12k mi warranty. We were not told what happened or what engine codes were reported. We were left in the dark given a take it or leave it offer.

Here is to hoping it was a fluke.

So driving home after work on the freeway and we get several emissions/power steering/braking warnings. Joy.

That’s the check engine light. Need to check the codes. Or take back to the dealer. Or both. GL dude.

That sucks. At least you have a 12k warranty. Hopefully it's just a bad sensor or something that wasn't connected correctly

Really? I thought it would mention the engine. Not emissions.

Check health of battery. And make sure tires are 33-34 psi.

Straight to dealer, last thing you need is to be charged 100% of fee for fixing something due to negligence by continuing to drive with warning lights.
