On vacation and spotted this i-VTEC FR-V in Amsterdam.

Smaller than a Fit, but it has 6 seats, so it’s considered a “mini van”.

It would be cool if some of the European models were in the states other than pickup trucks and SUVs
I’ll apologize now for the following long winded personal opinion. If you don’t agree, that’s fine by me too.

I’d be all for the variety of vehicles offered in Europe too, except that nearly nobody would buy them.
For a couple of reasons.
Fuel is too cheap in North America compared to the average $7/gallon + that is paid in Europe.
There’s no real financial incentive to purchase really fuel efficient vehicles over here.
That and the annual road tax that is charged based on your car’s engine displacement. Larger engine, the more you pay. Every year.
I know this is a thing in Germany at least because my relatives over there moan about it very vocally.
That and most all vehicle manufacturers in North America tout the “versatility“ and “ruggedness“ that trucks and SUV’s offer and Joe Public drinks that Kool-Aid willingly.
Not surprisingly, trucks and SUV’s are the most profitable vehicles that are sold, so let’s convince the general population of how badly they need to buy the most profitable vehicles we build, right?
Honestly, asides from work trucks or farm trucks, what suburbanite really uses their truck as a truck more than a couple of times a year?
I’d would have loved to buy a VW Lupo TDI that can do almost 80mpg, but sadly that car would never sell in North America.

Yeah that’s only a wish that these car would be in the states the lupo would be cool though

I don't like Europe, I like the Chinese. Although their cities are quite crowded, they have some common sense and they didn't fall into the idiocy of tiny cars. No "Smart" (stupid) cars there, very rare subcompacts, but instead quite a noticeable number of SUVs including quite splendid ones.

Most of what I saw in Shanghai were VW (every single taxi cab),BMW,Merc, and oddly enough Nissan trucks (and a smattering of exotics and Corvettes) . Granted, this was 7 years ago now, and Chinese auto has stepped their game up

For decades car enthusiast felt short handed for not having the opportunity to own, what was so "Cool" across both ponds. The only organization to blame is the EPA, Ive always thought they set their standards too high.

Always wanted a euro-spec Focus ST........

There seems to be a lot of German cars with a crowd of VW and Audi. In more affluent areas I've seen more Tesla's and Porsche's than I get to see at home. Then unrecognizable Chinese brands, then Japan (Nissan, Toyota) and then some American cars, Chevy, Ford, Buick.... Not so many Hondas, mostly CRV-like. Civics are relatively rare. Very few pickup trucks, but plenty of SUVs.
