Yea, I'm one of those guys. Assigning long press to any of the arrows disables all short press functions.

What may work but I haven't looked into yet is to use Honda hack to assign the custom long presses AND also the regular normal short functions. Essentially reprogramming all functions using Honda hack.
Good idea! I'll give that a shot and report back

Lack of parking brake handle is my biggest complaint, especially given the percentage of my year with snow on the ground.

How would it help?
Keep in mind, you can't push start a MT if the parking brake is dependant on battery power... come to think of it, with all the electronics in the car, I tend to doubt that push starting is any kind of an option anymore. I guess it always was a hack, anyway.

Hadn't considered that before. Excellent point. I'm not sure you could unlock the steering with a dead battery either...

I haven't tried it, but is the steering wheel really locked? My other car with push button start does not lock the wheel.

At first I thought I didn't have it either, but it was because I didn't scroll down on the list of assignable features.

If the rear-camera option really isn't there. It's possible it hasn't been updated to the current version 5.0.10 please note it cant be updated within android OS like you would on any other Android OS device

Honda Hack 5.0.10
Release notes

June 29, 2019 Make the manually opened rear camera not conflict with the lanew camera.

From: http://www.autohack.org/release-notes/
To install the latest version, please
1. Launch honda hack
2. Select install and uninstall apps

3. Select install apps online.

I hope that helps!

OK, thanks, this works once the last version is installed. It just didn't update to the last version by using the in app update option.
Now the civic is almost perfect.
Except that it still can't convert to a boat or a plane, of course. And, yes, ventilated seats are still missing.
