Haha not my motor. I’m buying a whole new long block. My rod shot through the middle of the motor and put through my oil pan. And that was only at 35-40% throttle in 3rd gear. Imagine if I was actually in the middle of a race lol. It would look my friend Driver B’s Si lol. Driver B is gonna install my new motor.its rebuildable ? cool.
Did driver b blow his si motor to?Haha not my motor. I’m buying a whole new long block. My rod shot through the middle of the motor and put through my oil pan. His son blew his wife’s Si motor. Turbo had upgraded internals that driver b did himself and pushing like 30+ psi. His son was pushing the car hard uphill with the AC on and here’s his motorDid driver b blow his si motor to?
Holy crap 30+psi I think the SI block can handle 320lb/tq but you'll have to be careful on how you throw it at it. Up hill and ac on is a ton of load for the rods that's forsure. Do you know how much torque he was making. His son blew his wife’s Si motor. Turbo had upgraded internals that driver b did himself and pushing like 30+ psi. Not sure on torque but his wife’s Si was 290+HpHoly crap 30+psi I think the SI block can handle 320lb/tq but you'll have to be careful on how you throw it at it. Up hill and ac on is a ton of load for the rods that's forsure. Do you know how much torque he was making.
dealer gave me a parts list and total came out to 5,800 not including labor. My new motor only has 10k miles on it. I thought 22k but he told me they messed up and it’s only 10k but it only cost me 2,600 and labor is $850.If I may ask.. Why get a whole new motor? I'm sure there are rebuild kids, and depending on the damage you could just get the crank machined and walls honed and be okay I would think.
I was seeing used motors go for around a grand on ebay, but that's still hit or miss in itself.
That's not too terrible then. Could be worse. So the

Rebuild in a lot of cases is more expensive. Back in 93 I had a 1976 Mercedes 280, I cracked the head and blew the head gasket. Block was fine. There was a shop in LA that had a remanufactured engine, $3000 with installation. A friend of mine who was a mechanic told me he could rebuild the head for much cheaper and talked me into it. BS. Parts alone were nearly $4k, getting it machined was $800, by the time everything was said and done, I had spent over $5500 and the car still wasn't running. I was bleeding so much money I put a stop to it, ended up selling it for $1200 to someone who needed it for parts. My "friend" mechanic left me high and dry and had the nerve to ask for an additional $500 for a job he didn't complete. I have not spoken to him since 93...That's not too terrible then. Well the block is cracked. If that wasn't the case, he could buy upgraded pistons, rods, block guard ect.. Drop it off at a reputable machine shop and have it back in a few days. That's what we did with my friends GSR when he grenaded his motor with nitro. His block was still intact though. If I may ask.. Why get a whole new motor? I'm sure there are rebuild kids, and depending on the damage you could just get the crank machined and walls honed and be okay I would think.
