So after a ton of BS i’ve finally received my grille from procivic, and i have to say, it’s pretty disappointing.... The biggest problem is the paint, it’s incredibly swirly and hazy, plus it doesn’t even look like the OEM piano black, it has a different hue that’s very evident in low-light. The other big issue is the emblem, it doesn’t sit flush inside the “mounting/backplate” piece and it has a small gap on the bottom, this is pretty disappointing, has anyone else had a similar experience? I even had aero spec racing emblem change my order to 9th gen emblem up front to accommodate the new grille and now i don’t think ill even be installing it...

Need pictures and/or videos to better illustrate your troubles. Not just for a warranty claim which you should be handling separately with Pro Civic via email, but for the knowledge of the forum. Thanks!

I have a Pro Civic grille, and I like everyone who I have spoken to have a small gap at the top of the grille where the body colored piece meets the tabs in the center above the Honda badge. I only see it if I go up close and look from the top - minor complaint, otherwise a solid upgrade that's allowed a ton more air flow to the radiator and looks great too.

It's hard to see in photos but procivic themselves acknowledged it in the email i sent to them:

I know it's just a honda, but that doesn't mean i want to put parts on my car that look worse than OEM, it's really hard to pick up the imperfections on my camera, but the finish on the paint is garbage IMO (not to mention it's not really the same Piano Black as OEM):

Here is advice I would like to give everyone when it comes to aftermarket grills and bumpers, lips etc. They sell them on Ebay, Amazon, ProCivic etc. Don't buy them. They are all made in China, they are cheap and flimsy, and they do not fit properly without "modification". And they don't look as good as OEM. Earlier this year I bought a Type R style bumper cover on Ebay. Tons of pictures, even pics of it installed. The seller guaranteed it fit. I took it to my friends body shop to install it as it needs to be painted. He test installed it, and called me showing me all all the gaps, and how flimsy it was. He said the only way to install it was to modify it, but than he could not guarantee his work, and they would have to charge me extra. After I contacted the seller, he told me any decent body shop can modify it, but this was unacceptable to me, so I told him I was returning it, which is another long story. The body shop ended up ordering an OEM bumper cover (the bumper cover has been damaged, which is why I ordered the bumper cover on Ebay in the first place) and of course it fit like a glove and looked great after they painted it.

Stick with OEM. The fit is perfect, and it just looks better.

***EDIT***

If you want performance/body kits, spend a little more money and buy Honda HFP parts

Is there a better option than the Procivic one? After seeing tons of pics I really thought the look of the grill was perfect compared to other after market ones. Now after reading this I must say im a bit discouraged on buying it... but the OEM grill definitely needs to go...

I'm buying one from fkxracing, i'll update this thread when it comes in, apparently it's made by the same manufacturer that honda uses for the HPD civics: https://hpd.honda.com/Articles/Touring/CivicSi

Agreed! My only wish is to have Honda's HPD parts open to the public and not pure membership/certification:nono: lol

Here's the thing...they guarantee fit, and they work! They also actually add value

Can you show me a link to the HFP grille? The only thing i’ve been able to uncover was the grille that HPD uses on that silly $50k si coupe

Let me see if I can find one. If I am not mistaken, both Coupe and Sedan use the same front grilles

I did install this over the weekend, honestly, even though the paint doesn’t 100% match the oem eyelids i don’t hate it, the only issue i really have with it is the fitment near the top of the grille, it’s kind of bad and the top clips on the grille don’t sit flush, i didn’t want to push my luck and jam them in so i just left it as is

Honestly, it doesn't look bad from the pic. As long as you are not OCD about it not being completely flush (nobody would notice that except you, the ower), it looks nice. Now I would not ever recommend you buy an aftermarket bumper cover...ever

BTW, it's raining in LA? I'm heading there next Thursday
