Does anyone have experience with their warranty coverage being voided with a ktuner flash? It's pouring rain here and my wiper motor stopped working which is covered under my warranty. But I don't have my ktuner unit with me and the car is being towed to the dealership in about 2 hours or so. I'm wondering if they're going to be looking at the ecu for anything and will find the tune map on there. It's not throwing any codes so I don't see a reason to check it.

You should be fine. I can't imagine they'd be checking for an ECU tune when they're only replacing a wiper motor.

I sure hope not. I'll find out today and report back here.

the first thing they will do is hook it up to the computer

yes i would worry
RIP. Hopefully this only voids my powertrain warranty and the wiper motor is still covered.

it aint worth it man, for a few extra HP?
I would have reflashed it back to stock, but my unit was at home and I needed it towed right away. It wasn't driveable in the weather.

if you want a fast car just buy one
It's a lot harder to make a non-practical "fast car" more practical than it is to make our practical car faster.
So yes, I would say it's worth it.

News to me. I've taken my car in numerous times tuned, with no issues. The only thing my dealer does is check the VIN for recalls.

Much more then a few horsepower. It absolutely changes the driveability of the car in day to day driving.

a lot of people would consider a civic to be non-practical to begin with,
Seriously? Good gas mileage, plenty of passenger and cargo space, easy to maneuver... I'd say that's the definition of practical.

So I just got my car back from the dealership. Motor replaced and they put on new wiper blades all free of charge/covered under warranty. So either they checked and didn't care that it's tuned, or, most likely, they just didn't check.

I did have this message pop up when I turned the car on though. Does this effect my tune at all? Will I need to reflash it?

If I could go back, I would have got a different car, probably something with more aftermarket options. When I bought this car, I just needed a point A to B vehicle, I didn't know I would dive into the world of tuning/modding, but here I am with 3 more years on my finance term.

They probably disconnected the battery during the swap. Just drive and it will go away. No need to reflash, it will not impact your tune.

Perfect. I drove it for a few kilometeres and it went away. Waiting for the fuel economy to go back down now.
