I have a red Type R, it has no metallic flakes in it. I want to order a black hood scoop and mirrors. Also possibly door handles. But it would come in the black Pearl color. I don't want it to look stupid with a bunch of flakes since the rest of the black parts on the car are just gloss black. Has anyone switched out these parts with the OEM black color from Honda? Do you have close up pictures of what they look like next to each other?

Why not wrap these parts?

I did the exact opposite. Black car and I had the scoop painted Honda Rally Red. My local Maaco shop did it for around $75. Happy with the results, but sometimes I think I might like a dark grey better...

cuz i tried and had a really terrible experience with it and the guy scratched the shit out of it. so im terrified to try again with anyone
I have my entire car wrapped .. there no one single scratch. Look for a professional guy to wrap those parts.. it will cost you alot less and will match with the gross black

I have a PMM, and I replaced the mirror covers and the hood scoop with the RR Honda parts. Those parts are relatively inexpensive and easy to swap. This isn't really a good pic to show the difference in the metal flake. But I noticed the RR color looks slightly different than the garnish strip, but not enough to matter to me.

I looked into replacing the door handles and the side pieces of the wing too, but they are rather expensive.

Yeah, always do whatever makes you happy...but from a visual design perspective it's not a good look lol.
Agree it's not a "pleasing" look, but I wanted something a little more aggressive looking. The PMM color blends in with a lot of other cars on the road.

The hood scoop is a surprisingly easy change out, so if I don't like it, I can switch it back. The side mirrors, not so much. I broke a couple of tabs on the old ones getting them off.

Looks cool. Who cares what others think. Pimp your whip as you see fit.
That said I do draw a line with green wheels:drool::p

I love my black hood scoop and mirrors :)
I would love black handles but the installation seems complicated

How did you do your scoop and mirrors? Paint? Wrap? Replace?

Door handles are a problem for me too. The pre-painted parts are expensive. I found some handle covers on ebay that you can order in different colors, but I haven't pulled the trigger yet.
