New civic owner here! Ex 1.5T Sedan.

First question is... is my car turbo or no? I noticed there's a Ex and Ex-T. Every document own is showing Ex but its also showing 1.5T. My engine says Turbo but I'm not feeling the power.

Second concern... I do want to give my car more power and I've been looking around and would like to buy these two options but not sure which one to get first. Ktuner/Flashpro or Intake. For intake, I'm looking at the PRL but I noticed theres a street option and race option. Which one would u guys recommend. I wouldnt be able to get the tune and intake together. Should I get the tuner first and then intake? Would I see a difference in power with just the tune and stock everything else and then get the intake a little bit down the road? Also I live in SoCal so we dont see a lot of rain and would consider getting a CAI if it would be better than the SRI.

Suggestions please. Complete noob here.

If all the paperwork you own says 1.5, then you have the turbo.

You'll get better bang for buck with a tuner. $400 on intake for maybe a few horsepower or $450 for a KTuner v1.2 for so much more - power, throttle response, the whole nine. I think the choice is clear. Also, the race MAF option for the intake requires tuning, so, there's that

The "T" in 1.5T stands for "turbo". I believe consensus on here is that a tuner is the best bang for your buck as well as first performance mod.

Hmmm. Should you be modding a car if you don't even know what engine type you have?;)

Having said that. Yes, you have a turbo. The "T" designation was dropped for '19 so the EX-T simply became the EX.

As far as tuning, it's by far the easiest and best bang for the buck power mod.

Okay ktuner it is. Obviously ktuner2.0 have more features and looks better on paper but is it worth the money? Like what’s the biggest difference u guys like between the two ktuners.

LOL yeah I would question myself with that as well

I have a laptop so I didn't find the need for the 7" tablet/touchscreen interface. Paid the $5 for the phone app, and I'm able to flash other tunes and and use it as gauges from that. One of the nice things is you can unlock the unit from the touchscreen, so there's that. It's really a "is the extra $200 worth the convenience" factor for you. I'm perfectly content with the v1.2, and as far as I know (could definitely be wrong, though), those are the major differences. If I wanted to change a tune via quick enables (throttle response, turbo ramp up, eco mode ramp up, etc), I know I have to do that from my laptop. I'm fine with that.

I would recommend to do what I did, learn and read the most posible in this site about the GenX civics , I recently picked up a new SI , and the first thing I did is lower it and window tints and waiting to receive the side markers, and you can’t go wrong with the ecu , I ordered the PRL race intake and will get the Ktuner soon and take it form there

Lots of noobs here, me included :) A question for the experts in the room.... if you use ktuner or hondata, how's that effect engine life - and does it void any warranties...?

I've watched a few videos and read about using hondata, it looks like it's a really awesome performance booster... but what's the downside?

Pushing more power through a motor can decrease the life of that motor, the question is how much. It does technically void much of your motor's warranty though since an unsupported tune can in theory damage the motor (which wouldn't be covered by a manufacturer's warranty).

My salesman told me how one of his customers has a tuner, and flashes back to stock for the oil changes and any service. Everybody Does It. Everybody knows.

The Tuned Car Reliability Survey thread has alot more info: https://www.civicx.com/threads/the-tuned-civic-x-reliability-survey-database.42361/

The flex fuel seems to be what gets people in trouble the most, the engine is only made for premium gasoline, not alcohol based fuel mixtures.
