What mustang has 485hp for only 33k? I wonder what kind of times it does in the 1/4.
The new Mustangs have stock 460 HP and are doing 11 second 1/4 mile times, there are Ford dealerships out there offering new Mustangs with blowers 800 HP and capable of 10 second and maybe single digit 1/4 mile times OTD for $40K

Well, yes and no. You're correct that the new GT's push out 460 hp and 420 ft-lb of torque totally stock. They'll smoke 98% of cars in this forum in a straight line.

But there is no way a brand-new 10-second 1/4 mile car is being sold anywhere for $40k... Link? Pics?

I picked the Si because I sometimes have 5 people in my car. the CTR only accommodates 4 people. Also here the markup is so stupid high making it even less worth it.

The longer I own my Si the more I like it, I really like the looks of the Si Coupe but it’s not easy getting in and out of the backseat, the sedan much better choice if you need to use the backseats, I don’t have to use them. Bang for the buck I don’t think there’s much better out there. For $40k there’s other stuff to look at besides the CTR. Really like the Subaru WRX at $26K, the STI at $38K and the Mustang GT at $33K before the CTR. Don’t even think about a Hyundai or Kia.

I was in your same shoes a few months ago and had a $200 deposit on a CTR for sticker. Do not pay more than sticker whatever you do, you will be getting ripped off, there’s plenty of dealerships selling them at sticker. My CTR came in about a month after I gave them a deposit and I told them I’m not gonna buy it. They gave me back my $200. The reason why I decided not to buy it was I can’t see myself paying $40K for a 14 second 1/4 mile Civic that I don’t think looks that great. I say get a 485 HP Mustang for $33K.
Deff considered the mustang at one point, only problem is the insurance is really expensive and it doesn't help that I'm a young guy (22).

For 44k I'd much rather have a BMW, lexus, mercedes or even ford mustang. The dealership near me has the ctr at 52k. I've repeated told the sales manager he's an idiot if he thinks anyone will buy it at that price. Even offered MSRP and he refused.

If honda thought the car was worth 40-50k, they would have put that as the MSRP. Paying a "market adjustment" inflation is just plain old dumb unless you enjoy flushing money down the toilet.

Agreed. Good on you for telling him to go screw himself lol.
To any fools out there paying more than $42k for a CTR, well, YOU are the problem.

If you have the money and resources to get the CTR then DO IT ! Life is too short to be driving slow vehicles.
I'm fresh out of college and I have some loans to pay off so I'll be sticking to my Si for now  Which I'm pretty happy with.

Had the SI. Liked it.

Have the R. Really like it.

Money wasn't an issue for me personally with either car.

Get what makes you happy. Just don't trade in an upside down loan with a $50K a year salary backing it like some members of the CTR community. They're learning the hard way that it's never good to be car poor. If you can't comfortably afford it without concern for your bottom line, don't get it.

You’re referring to me aren’t you :(

It’s okay, it was a stupid decision and with my financial situation not getting better (actually getting worse because of other personal events) I may decide to get rid of it maybe as soon as the end of this month.

Please do not make my mistake, this car is awesome but it’s not worth putting yourself in a hole like me.
