Can somebody help me take a look on my datalog of 40minutes of drive.
(please click this link to download the datalog)

I've look around forums and many said that we should ignore the knock count value and focus on knock control instead.
But the knock count i've encounted still bothering me. 50k km now and i plan to keep this car for a long time, maybe 3 more years.
Anyone encounter this low rpm knock count with their civic x 1.5T CVT with tuned?
What is the knock count value and knock control percentage to be consider normal on a 40minutes commute?

Knock count is misfire count on this setup and unless it is so bad that you are throwing a check engine light, it is usually best ignored.

What damage will it cause if continue to have "misfire knock count" ?

Yeah it kinda happen randomly among the 4 cylinder. The knock count doesn't fix on a cylinder. Sometime cylinder 3 is the highest and sometime cylinder 2. And i also realise when i lift off it also record knock count which drive me crazy.

We all experience the same, and like many said unless there are hundreds per minute you should not worry at all. Knock count doesn't mean you have a big explosion making damage to your engine, it registers misfires more that anything else.

Thanks I always wanted to ask how to record misfires. So it's knock count mostly. My drives are never more than 25 and that's on extreme cases like always when it rains. Other wise average knock count well less than 10. I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to change spark plugs, I'm over 60k miles

Take this for what it is worth. The knock count is registering what the computer deemed an instance of abnormal combustion. People down play it and I dont think this is wise. An acceptable count (this is even excessive in my mind) would be maybe 30. If you drive for 30 minutes and register 30 knock counts, thats a "reportedly" unstable combustion event every minute of operation.

In 25k miles of tuning mine I could count on 2 hands how many knock counts I have seen.

It should be avoided if possible.

100s in a short time will be a blown engine.

Catch this before that occurs.....by at least acknowledging the knock counts and keeping mental log of what is normal for your car.

Something has to be wrong in all this "ignore knock count" advise with the rod exit cars we have been seeing in the past year....

To my knowledge no one has said to totally ignore knock counts. What's been mentioned by D-Rob, JR, Vit and others is that the Knock Count number on this platform is not an accurate measure of knock. So basically seeing something like 10 on a 30 minute drive isn't a concern. However, 100's on the same drive is certainly a red flag.

Absolutely I am just trying to steer the convo back straight because people are reading this and regurgitating dramatized versions.

My knock count average went up when I got a new exhaust setup. And then again when I got a FX350. My average in an hour of driving was like 20-30 "knocks" and it didn't matter of I was hooning on it or granny driving. It was rarity actually to see it tick up during boost situations.

My knock control actually fluctuates and jumps up to .65-.70 on partial throttle. 0 knocks registered though, it's weird. But when i start hooning it for a few mins it goes back down to normal and is STILL at 0 knocks. On occasion it'll register 1-3 between cylinders but it's mainly the knock control that is all over the fucking place. Maybe faulty sensor?
