I've been experience the same issues. My galaxy s10 has never worked with my 18 civic si. i've tried many USB cables, but nothing works. My problem is the music not playing. it freezes for a couple seconds and not sound comes out. I've been trying to use since day 1 but it's impossible. The work around would be to honda hack to install a file manager to play music from a USB stick and use AA for the GPS only.
That's strange, my 2017 Civic Si and Galaxy S9+ has mostly worked fine. I would get lots of disconnects until I replaced the cable I was using (with an anker braided cable), and now only get occasional disconnects.

What are you playing music through? I typically use Google Music and Spotify, but occasionally use Youtube/Youtube music. This is all through AA. Natively I use the built in media player to play ripped youtube videos for my kids, mostly audio only, sometimes I put the video on screen.

Just an update. The day after I thought I fixed my problem by switching to the OEM USB cord I discovered that I still have the issue connecting Android Auto. I guess I give up for now. Hopefully a software update comes out that fixes the issue. I'm tired of screwing with it.
