Does anyone know of a way to install a harness without a harness bar? Or something that’ll still let me use my rear seats?

There are anchor points on the rear seats. Between the vertical and horizontal cushions. They're not the biggest loops but they work. I've seen people use them for a harnesses

Those anchor points aren’t rated for an adult I believe.

My child car seats only allow us to go up to 40 pounds. Now is that a limitation of the seat or the anchor?

Oh shit you're right. I didn't even think of that, even though it has a little carseat icon on it. I took a magnet to it and it seems ferrous (was hard to get my magnet in there.

Those weight limitations are based on the seat. If you think about it you can have several different styles of car seats designed for the kids at different stages of their life and they will have different weight limits. It is just a scale of when you should move the kid into the next size of seat (like from a car seat into a booster seat.) That being said, I have no idea what the ultimate load rating is on those anchor points but I would guess it is pretty high.

Try this link. It was a while back. This guy use the Schroth harness kit from the ford focus. It seem to work great. Hope this help! If I remember correctly. He also have a more detail write up on FB Honda FK8 product review group. You probably have to search it.

I think that’s partially correct. They have us move to the regular bet at around 45 pounds plus the seat. If the latch was that strong I’m sure we could use it for a much longer time. Even say 60 pounds. They don’t say we can’t use the car seat at 60 but that you must most from the latch to the 3 point to secure the seat to the car. The child still use/ the 5 point harness.

Keep in mind the shape of the latch is a square and that can deform in a crash.

Would be good to know
