Hey guys,
I have almost 5500 miles and my '19 Type R and its time for an oil change.
I am going to the dealer ship to have it done, i'm too lazy to change it my self.
Have you guys noticed the difference between an A1 and B1 service.
According to Honda, A1 is only supposed to "Replace engine oil."
For B1 (or all B maintenance minders) it say "Replace engine oil and oil filter."
Why would they only replace engine oil in some circumstances and not the filter as well.
If you are curious where i am reading this you can find it here:
https://owners.honda.com/servicemaintenance/minder
Type in your make and model, and the maintenance minder link will appear at the bottom.
I have also seen dealer websites that state the opposite, where A means to replace both engine oil and filter.
Here is a link for that one:
https://www.mainlinehonda.com/servicedept.cfm/page/maintenance-minder-codes-1004/
What has been your guy's experience? IF you had your oil changed at a dealership, what was the result? Did they try to only replace the oil and not the filter?
And maybe someone can explain why they would recommend the oil only without the filter.
Thanks guys/girls!
