A 2dr hatch would give you a nice looking car with a bit more practicality than a 2dr coupe's trunk. The 4dr Civic Hatch is one of the ugliest cars made. If you want something practical buy a station wagon, why even bother with a hatch?
Agreed! Why the type R is a 4 door is beyond me.

I’ll agree a 2 door hatch would be great but the civic hatch now isn’t bad looking. better looking
Than the Elantra hatchback

I got my 19 sport coupe for the manual transmission. Oh yeah, and because the gauge cluster is red vs the blue in my 16 sedan

Love my coupe, the only thing I truly miss with it is the paddle shifters. Had them on the old CR-Z, miss 'em everyday. When I bought the car I didnt have a choice as the old CR-z had been flooded out and was a total loss, bought the car in a rush without proper study that I normally would have done.

I choose the Coupe over the Sedan for multiple reasons:
  1. I needed a daily and my wife had the 4-Door Family Car. So I didn't need a 4-Door.
  2. I like the styling/exterior of the Coupe more than the Sedan.
  3. I rarely see Coupe Si's. So they're rare in my area. This could help with re-sale.
  4. It kind of reminded me of my Integra also.

Just like the old days the husband drove the coupe or 2 door and the wife drove the sedan or wagon
Excellent! Both cars look great

Thanks! Well, she drove my previous 2009 Lexus ES350. But she loved my Si so much, she wanted one too. So naturally, we sold the Lexus and got her the Sedan.

The looks !!

I actually had an older couple (50's) literally follow me into a parking lot just to say they love the look of my white EX-T coupe.

If this one had a hatch, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Oh, wait! I already did!

This is not to bash a different body style or color. It’s a simple question to coupe owners. Is it because of the styling because it’s a two door? This was brought up do to another post having a discussion that nobody wants a two door car. So why is it that you bought a coupe. My reason hands down because the styling and I like two door cars
I like that the coupe has 5.5" less 'over hang' behind the rear axle.

I bought a coupe because all my kids are grown and I don't have a bunch to haul any more. I prefer the styling of the coupe over any other. All my research before purchase shows the coupe to have better handling vs the other models.

On the subject of the 2 door hatch, or a Type-R coupe. Both of these could be achieved easily with the current coupe body style. Convert the small trunk lid to a hatch similar to the 80's fox body style hatch. This would allow bigger access/use of the trunk/cargo area. This would make a 2 door hatch and keep the idea that a Civic Type-R is always a hatch.

True I had 1980 mustang notch back and 1983 mustang hatchback. Look at the Chevy Vega notch back, hatchbacks and a wagon ( which would be the style of a modern hatchback) Honda is the only auto manufacturer the kept a model line the civic with three different body styles I believe
