Drove the car a little bit last night and to work this morning...with the Acuity bushings installed, the stock shifter feels a little bit more substantial. Feels really good. This is a really nice upgrade all by itself. Digging it. Gonna drive like this for a little while and enjoy.

Next up would be the full shifter install, but have heard it is much stiffer, so may need to do some arm curls first ;)
The full shifter definitely can take some initial acclimation, but running the knob high and adjustments conservatively can help with that process a lot. If you think it may be a bit extreme, consider some of the mods from our stage 2 kit that improve the stock shifter. :)

Too late for me, heh.. I went with your stage 3 kit... so the full shifter is sitting in the garage.. Just need to find time to install it.

Gonna pair it with an after market shift knob.. for Honda, it’s 10m x 1.5 correct sir?

The full shifter definitely can take some initial acclimation, but running the knob high and adjustments conservatively can help with that process a lot. If you think it may be a bit extreme, consider some of the mods from our stage 2 kit that improve the stock shifter. :)

Yessir, M10x1.5 is the thread. The sea of aftermarket knob options is seemingly endless; you'll have plenty of options. :)

Installed the Acuity Full Shifter last night after work. Took a little longer than anticipated... and was starting to think I may not make it home at a decent hour... or at all.. lol. Being a first timer, it took approximately 4 hours + just winged it with Acuity’s online instructions. Didn’t find their shifter video until my 3rd hour in... watching it first would have made it much easier lol.

Was afraid I might not like the full shifter having read how much stiffer it is....had been happy with the stock shifter. Installed Acuity’s bushing upgrade last week and was really pleased with how that improved the feel.

Verdict based on a 20 mile drive home:

Besides the Acuity bushings being a must get and a terrific value... Acuity’s Full Shifter is a very impressive mod and game changer. Completely changed the driving experience of the car.... can only equate it to activating Type R Mode for the shifter. Asked Boosted180sx for suggested settings and he said medium all around so went with that. The shifts are short and precise at that setting. Took all of maybe (5) minutes to get acclimated and appreciate the new feel.

Drove to work this morning @515am PST. SoCal temps were cool...not many cars on the road ...no CHPs...an amazing and fun 20 mile commute.

Acuity’s bushing upgrade, full shifter and gas pedal spacer, together, has really enhanced the driving experience, and seamlessly ties in with other mods on the car.

For an analogy:

OEM = comfort mode
OEM w/Acuity bushings = sport mode
Acuity Stage 3 full shifter w/bushings = R mode

Kudos to Russ and company!

I was able to finally get the small bushing retaining clip it. Lord that was hard. My knuckles are destroyed lol.

Tools to use that would help a lot is 12inches screwdriver or philipscrew as long as it fits the bushing’s hole. You’ll probably ruin the oem bushing for this but for me its ok. Removing the oem and putting the new one in is easy.

first step after you removed the oem bushing put the small one first so you have more room “ps. this is without removing the battery and chargepipe”. The retaining clips for the small one is different as you can see on the picture its not like the big one. I highly suggest buying your own retaining clip “sorry I forgot the measure the retaining clips size for the small one”. The big one is fine but the small one is disaster.

I could see this working. We like the screwdriver and rock back/forth method, but we'll give this method a try soon to check it out. :)

Glad you were happy with them in the end. It's tricky for us to give advice to first-timers. Most of us here at ACUITY have installed these cable bushings many times. The difficulty varies so greatly form model to model. For instance, I installed these on a 9th Gen with a cold air intake the other day in about 15 minutes (not kidding), but then on an FK8, it would take me closer to 30, not taking breaks. Then you have first-timers where it can be a day-long affair. Out of curiosity, did you mostly use our PDF guide, or did you take advantage of the install video(s) as well? We like to get a feel for what guides best help end-users so we can make sure we are making guides that you guys really want to use. :)

Just wanted to mention that I use both the videos and the PDF guides (printed out). I like to have the guides in the car and can just go page to page and of course don't have to worry about the laptop being in the way during install.

Totally understand how the spiral retaining rings could be tricky to someone who hasn't used them before, but once you understand how they work, they are easier to work with than the ear-style ring you posted as it requires no special tools. We have video on our youtube that just addresses removing the rubber bushings and installing ours, not on a car, but on a bench. It shows a good up-close view of how to do it. Instead of swapping retaining rings, consider just putting the retaining ring on the bushing at a table/bench first so you can better see how to start at one end and work your way around the ring, spiraling it into the groove (similar to putting a key on a keychain).

Thank yoh for the response☺.J totally understand how the small retaining clips works. And yeah It was easy to put it in I can do that even if my eyes closed, But I was saying that putting the small retaining clips

without removing the battery
without removing the chargepipe
And putting it with a really small space

the C clip I was suggesting is more easier for me because with the help of retaining clip pliers $5 and the C clip for 2$ you can put that with one hand

It wasnt to bad, just alot of removing. I also did the 2020 shifter with acuity parts and poco shift knob. Shifting is smooth and on point.
