Holy smokes PRL!!! The sound is damn crazy!! Ty just finished installing. It was all new to me and I never worked in a engine bay before so it took me 2 hours. Struggle really was the connection of the airbox and hose :)

I'm kinda jealous. I installed this yesterday when I received it, but I can't really hear much of it due too my R400 system lol. Looks nice and no issues with the way it drives on a K-Tuner stage 1 map. Feels a little quicker 1st to 2nd but I'm not pushing it as I have snow tires on and they almost melt if there's any spin.

Couple of notes:

-Don't wrestle with the tamper proof clamp on the first few steps. If you loosen the left and right side as instructed, remove the Evap 10mm bolts...you can pop that section off of the inlet pipe and intake. Then just gently wiggle the vacuum "nipple", out of where the clamp holds it.
-Did everyone have a "drain" hole in the bottom of their intakes? Noticed the installation guide pictures doesn't have the small hole but the one I received does. The factory box has a rubber flap that is clamped on to the box that in theory lets water out. Granted, if you have that much water, you are sol.
-Tighten the screws that people refer to as falling out, by hand. I used a really nice torque wrench and some snugged up at ~25ft/lb, others were too lose. By hand you can get a better feel. Even with the blue Loctite, it metal and plastic. Not every piece will be molded the same so just tighten until they feel snug...and not too much. Alternate tightening like a set of lug nuts on a wheel.
-Instructions online state to remove the positive terminal. This is because it frees up a little room to get to the back 10mm bolt when removing the OEM box, and putting the new one in. Please remove the negative first and then positive. I just removed the negative, and pushed back on the loom to install that bolt but either way, - first, + last. If you remove the + terminal first and accidentally ground your wrench to the body(specifically a grounding point), you basically took a metal object and touched the + and - terminals of the battery (short). Be safe.

Otherwise, love it!

Please check all your intake connections to make sure you do not have a leak anywhere.
Thanks for the response !
So I installed and installed and no luck , my emissions light still there, and same rev issues, could it be that I got a defective one or what?
anyhow, I’m gonna install the oem one back and see what I’m gonna do next!

Did you discount the battery during install?

You're welcome!

Realistically, the only component in this kit that could/would affect anything like this would be the MAF housing, which would be virtually impossible for us to machine one inaccurately. ;)

Thanks for the response , I figured , I’m gonna go back to stock and if the problem continues then for sure will probably be the maf sensor!!

Just a reminder any sensor should be handled with extreme care/caution. Dropping, bumping, exposure to dirt and elements can cause issues. I have a foam pad I roll out on my work bench whenever handling anything delicate.

I had the same exact issue, rev match error, CEL, etcc but it was because i forgot to disconnect the battery lol. Disconnected it for a minute or two, reconnected and made sure all clamps were tight/nothing loose. Drove around for a bit and everything went back to normal.

Hi Timo!

Couple of questions to maybe help you resolve this.

Are you tuned?
Other mods?
Those weren't noted on the initial issue but the sound of being "cammed", leans towards a tune on an ECU that isn't jail-broken. As @PRL Motorsports noted, the only thing on the intake that would do anything, is the MAF and even leaks shouldn't trigger the emission codes. (Or make the car sound like a "cammed" car)

@Naruske posted something similar, maybe try pulling the NEGATIVE cable off the battery for awhile and reconnect. Possibly the MAF was damaged but try the basics. Can you post some pics of the intake/MAF? Might help finding anything unusual.

Don't take it off!, It sounds great and feels nice...biased statement.
