Wow ... the new sensor is the exact same as the sensor that came with the car. I just took out my sensor to check if the shroud I epoxied back to the sensor haven’t broken off. It’s still on there nice and secure. I have notice a thin layer of oil on the sensor. It has only been 1 day and 35 miles later.

The position of the thermistor/tempsistor in the housing seems haphazard to me, I doubt anyone in Mass Production of that part would go thru the trouble of making sure it was isolated from the mass around it. Probably as others have said, makes little difference in the big picture. Otherwise they would have changed it. It's only warrantied for 3 years/36,000 miles or so.

So, r u going back to stock design with the new sensor? you didn't see much gain or too risky from this mod?

This mod is not suppose to give you any gains. It just reduces the heat soak effect when you are in traffic or at partial throttle. Now I have the probe centered and the shroud in place with the help of epoxy. I’m more concerned about the amount of oil going through the intake manifold at such a short amount of time and mileage.

another forum member has posted that his sensor is bone dry, and he thinks it could be the catch can that was installed. I've ordered mine immediately!

Nice. Which catch can did you go with?

for the life of me, I couldn't figure out the difference between CCV and PCV (thought they are the same, just different name), so I just went with PCV, which I think stands for Positive Crack case Ventilation (and CCV, is Crack Case Ventilation?)...hoping someone can clarify this for me...maybe go back and order CCV as well?

basically pcv is for the one on intake manifold and ccv is for the one on the intake.
