Dude, thats such BS. Why the hell would you do that to a brand new car? not to mention the slight decrease in resale value.
There is no "reprogramming". As far as Im concerned, the windshield is just a piece of glass covering the sensor. Even if it requires re-calibration and I didn't have the digits in my bank, I would leave it be. You paid $950
Anyways, your car your choice
i paid 450$ ....didnt have a total of 1300$ to put in this car.......resale value???ill ride this car until its on the dirt pile hahahahah...no big deal ...and if i want to traded in...theyll charge me 1000$ more on my new ride that i choose....no worries there

Did you make this post to get bullied?
Because this is how you get bullied.

It doesn't matter how much money you saved, this is stupid. Pray to god sensing doesn't wig out and go off while you're driving and put your life in danger because you wanted to save some money. At this point, you really can't fix stupid can you?

Just put some electrical tape over the warning lights, that’s what my dad did with all the junkers he’s drove over the years. lol

But really, I’d take it to the dealership and ask them to disable The Sensing.

Surely that’s possible, and mostly likely the better option over pulling fuses out.

Of course, that would probably negate your attempt at frugality.

This happened to me yesterday on the highway. Rock flew out of nowhere and i was about to take my exit. This morning it spreaded a bit more upward. Safelite quoted me this price. My deductible is only $100 (I've always kept my comprehensive deductible at that price), so the insurance will cover the rest. It is going to take 3hrs this weekend to get it done.

I bought my car brand new (2019 Civic ST HB) on Aug 9, 2019. On Aug 11, I took a rock to the face and that took a chunk out of my windshield right in my line of sight. Less than two weeks later, I took another rock to the upper center, and now I have a crack across the top of the windshield behind the rearview mirror about 18 inches across.

I drive 2500+ miles/month, almost all freeway, so I average about two windshield replacements per year. I sure as hell didn't plan to do it less than a month in to a brand new car, so I'm leaving it the way it is until I either get a ticket, or it gets worse, but it pisses me off every time I look at it. Full glass coverage with no deductible is a great thing, and I'm sure that this car is cheaper than my BMW, which was a $1400 windshield every time, so my insurance company should be happy. :) I have a great relationship with my auto glass company, and I love that they come and do the work right in the parking lot of my workplace.
