I don't usually see boost until 3rd gear. But I guess I'm not flooring it in 1st or 2nd either

I'm typically at 60-70% throttle in 1st and 2nd and with that input, at about 3500RPM you feel the turbo kick though this is close to the max you'll most likely be able to do without stickier tires or you won't hook. You also have to roll into it as well.I don't usually see boost until 3rd gear. But I guess I'm not flooring it in 1st or 2nd either
Its all in the foot work....Launch it right while feathering the throttle and it'll surprise you how well it launches for a FWD car. I've outlaunched ecoboost mustangs from a redlight...but then again im on Michelin PS4S tires....100% agree with that!
1st and 2nd gear are pretty useless...
Nothing like watching that 1999 Saturn fade off into the sunset from the traffic light...
But --- once you hit 3rd GTF out of the way!
Same tires I'm on.Its all in the foot work....Launch it right while feathering the throttle and it'll surprise you how well it launches for a FWD car. I've outlaunched ecoboost mustangs from a redlight...but then again im on Michelin PS4S tires....
Yeah, same here. I see about 19-21 psi in both 1st and 2nd gear from a roll and 100% stock.I just tried a few WOT pulls in first and second gear on my way home from work. I saw at least 22psi of boost in both gears according to the boost gauge on the dash. I’m 100% stock. Am I missing something?
You’ll only see less if you’re heat soaked. Which unfortunately is right after one pull in these cars. If it’s heatsoaked I only get like 14-15 psi of boost. And you definitely feel the difference in power. Almost feels like you’re towing something.Yeah, same here. I see about 19-21 psi in both 1st and 2nd gear from a roll and 100% stock.
