Hey guys! First post ever here! I definitely am new to being on a forum and new to owning not just 1 but 2 Type R civics! Super excited. Have had 2 SI civics but traded them in this weekend for Type R civics for the fun of it. What should I expect being a new Type R owner?!

Congrats on the CTR! I don't personally have a Type-R, but you should expect to get a lot of looks in your direction when you drive the car, especially from guys like myself in our baby Type-R, the Si.

Ditto. Watch out for potholes and consider switching out to 18” or 19” wheels. Expect to have a lot of fun on the street or some overheating on the track.

If you're looking to meet men, the supra and the Type R are primo for it.

I get way too many thumbs ups, head nods, and men asking me about it.

I also get idiots tailgating me, revving on me, and people driving like assholes around me because of it.

Why did you buy two?

Welcome!
My only advice would be practice a bit.
I come from a racing background and the first few times I put the spurs to it I wouldn't exactly call it predictable.
I'd strongly urge a track day or some auto-cross or lots of seat time before thinking about that over-take out in the real world.
Oh and premium gas too.

Tires will not have traction in colder temps, and they cost a lot to replace. Dont go full throttle in 1st gear. Your breaks will squeak and produce excessive amounts of dust.

Of course none of these are issues if you dont plan on leaving the car stock.

You bought two Type R's? Interesting.
Well I knew if I got it, boyfriend wasn’t going to share so the dealership gave me an amazing price on 2!

Congrats!!! You and your bf will love it!

This depends where you live but if you live in an area that does not have the best roads then i would suggest getting the wheel and tire package. Within 2-3 months i had 2 flats and had to replace a rim. Thankfully at no charge since i had the package.

Another thing is people taunting you to race or tailgating you. This car loves attention!

One more thing! If you guys hear a metal clanking sound coming from your wheels, do not worry! These cars tend to get rocks stuck between the rotor and dust shield. The noise can be super embarassing depending how big the rock is but you'll see what im talking about when it happens.(hopefully it never does, lol) :D
