Anyone out there tired a 19" 55/60 mm offset?
Close to factory spec but you could get a little more sidewall and tire selection.

I’m running close to +55 offset: OZ Ultraleggera HLT 19x8.5 +53 wheels with 245/35-19 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ tires. I decided to try 19” wheels (to get more sidewall) and since I wanted all season tires for winter this seemed like a good experiment to try. I’m planning on getting another set of 19” wheels next spring for summer tires - the streets around here are a bit sketchy for the OEM wheel/tire setup. The additional sidewall worked out well for me.

Nice post. I was looking into buying a set of 18" TE37 but said 'for what reason?' - I also do not have garage space for the OEM wheels. I feel that part of the Type R should remain stock just as the wheels it came with. I remember when people made DC2 into ITR clones and bought the JDM wheels from Japan.

I might just go with a different size tire than the Continental's to improve my ride. Cheaper than a $3K investment in new rims.

I just got the same set up. What's been your experience so far in normal and spirited driving?
I've only got about 50 miles on them. Definitely a softer and quieter ride. I like them but I love the look of the OEM 20's.

The main difference I notice is I stay in sport mode most of the time - on the OEM setup I was usually in comfort mode. It feels like I’m giving up a little in spirited cornering - but not much, and I was expecting that from all season tires. So now I’m curious about summer tires on 19” wheels, but that can wait for spring. Ideally I’ll find some +60 offset wheels by then.

4k miles so far and no bent wheels. I bought another set of wheels and tires as insurance just in case I loose wheel or tire. Honda did a good job with this car and got the balance perfect so I will continue to run the stock wheels.
