So I was taking a trip to Charleston, South Carolina with my friends and we were checking into our Airbnb, and while I was trying to find the place, I made a really sharp turn into the driveway because I didn't want to miss it, and... The driveway was extremely small and there was a little ditch next to the driveway, which I went over :(

No cosmetic damages on my car, but I'm getting warnings about the ACC, Collision Mitigation, and Road Departure system being down. The Brake System light is on too, even though the brakes still function. Would this be covered under warranty?

I recommend disconnecting the negative terminal on the battery, wait a couple minutes, then reconnect it to reset the computer.

If you’ve never done this before, please google how to do it safely first.

I'll give it a try I guess. I just thought that maybe I damaged the sensors when going over the ditch

The sensors are the cameras behind the rear-view mirrors i thought? I don’t know for sure, honestly. I dont own a civic with sensing. I have seen dash board lights freak out though, and usually reseting the system fixes it.

I'm not sure, I remember reading something saying there were sensors under the car. I'll try resetting the system, but I just thought I damaged something because it was working perfectly fine right before this haha

The issues, I believe, are with the main camera and/or the RADAR unit. My money is on the RADAR. You get a brake light warning due to the fact that the ACC and collision mitigation utilizes the brakes, I believe.

There's nothing to lose by trying a reset. But your System may require a recalibration (that thing where they use large black and white targets on the wall).

When my camera went bad; *all* the systems were warning of issues, gonging, and the like. Again... my issue was a failed camera. So a system reset did nothing.

Others here have had warnings. Simply shutting off the car and restarting solved the (likely temporary) issue.

I think that you shook the RADAR unit loose. Or there is something foreign inside the area where the RADAR is located.

Good luck.

You sir, were right on point. Went to the dealership and they said my camera was out of position. Thankfully they took my warranty because they didn't see any damage haha

How hard did you hit that ditch to dislodge the camera? Did the shop check your front suspension? Does the car pull left or right? Any strange noises or vibration? Glad they covered the recal under warranty. Stealerships charge anywhere from $250 on up to calibrate the camera. I know from experience.

It wasn't too hard, but it did dislodge the cover thingy under the bumper, and my driver side side marker was loose, so I popped it back into place. Other than that, no visible damage done. I'm not sure if I hear any weird noises or if the car is driving funny, I think it feels a little off, but maybe I'm just being paranoid haha. It doesn't really pull to the left or right too hard though, I can let my hands off the wheel and the car will still go straight

You mentioned the camera was out of position and then referred to items in the bumper being affected. The RADAR unit is in the bumper & the camera is attached to the windshield near the rear view mirror. Are you saying both areas were affected?

Hmm the windshield was not affected. The tech at the dealership said the camera was out of position haha that's all he said

Thanks! Don't plan on it haha it was just the combination of long hours on the road, trying to find my airbnb, looking at the map, and my friends being annoying all at once
