The bolts came off completely. I only have 2 bolts left and found one stuck in the engine bay below. I’m sure I tightened them down pretty good. There’s not much torque you can apply to the hex bolts because you’ll end up rounding them out.
Actually, button head cap screws are able to withstand a good bit of torque, especially with hex-drive/allen keys. The hex will not strip/round if the proper size key is used. Do NOT use a ball key to torque, as this will increase the risk of stripping/rounding. We used oversize flanged BHCSs for even more clamp load and to help reduce marking on the air box lid, so there is no reason for adding washers. The supplied bolts are expensive (for the size) and high quality. These are not stretching or failing, so there is no reason to look into a "stronger" bolt. The plastic does act like a crush washer, so it can be difficult gauge how tight bolts have actually been torqued. Sometimes it may feel like bolts are "tight," when they in fact are not. 24 in/lbs is quite a bit of torque for these bolts with a plastic "crush" between them. You will be amazed with how tight, in fact, this is if you're using a torque wrench. For reference, our bolts were probably only torqued to 50-75% of our provided torque spec the first half dozen times we've had our prototype intake in/out of our shop car and still felt "tight" and never fell out. There is no reason whatsoever for these bolts to come out if properly torqued, especially with the suggested Blue Loctite. The washers are a good idea to distribute the load and absolutely us consumers should look into stronger bolts.
I think we have to remove the lid in order to clean the filter, I don’t think it can be taken out otherwise.
We do not recommend adding another washer or using different bolts. Can we remove the bolts for filter replacement with loctite? I think a washer would do or these bolts?

Once installed, the air box is actually fairly easy to remove, especially once you've been in there are familiar with the install.Correct and that’s one of my initial concerns even before I ordered. It’s just painful for lazy people like me ;-)
Correct, we've had to push the expected shipping date back a few days for accuracy.Originally they said they were on track for the 30SEP2019 target, website now shows 04OCT2019.
Thanks for reaching out to us, please email [email protected] with some photos.Whoa, so PRL sent some of you guys a replacement tube due to gap? I got in on the first batch and my tube has a gap more than 2-4mm...after i tried everything to make it fit. I would love a replacement tube that actually fits flush....
27.7psi "peak" I am not using the new EGT option. How much boost are you guys hitting after the install?
I have Hondata base 93 but bumped torque to 510nm with EGT turned off.
Used to hit 26lbs now I'm getting 27-28
Lol this thing sounds nuts with Hondata traction control. I WOT in the rain and Hondata kept pulling timing.27.7psi "peak" I am not using the new EGT option.
just order it and don't look back!Uuuggghhh I need to ditch my mishimoto hot heavy box and have this in my life. Hopefully I'll be able to sell it. Still have my oem exhaust hoping to sell that too.
My first intake and my second one were hit by that clamp it poke the hose on both. I rotated it before installing my PRL intake and it does not make contact anymore. What kind of clearance are people seeing with the radiator hose? Tried to make adjustment but seems really close if maybe touching. I know I need to get back in there and at least rotate the one clamp.
I rotated the clamp for better clearance. But look at the actual radiator hose and intake. They are pretty closeMy first intake and my second one were hit by that clamp it poke the hose on both. I rotated it before installing my PRL intake and it does not make contact anymore.
