Good write up!! I am also one of the proud owners of this great product. I'd like to add the followings:

1) The lift can actually lift straight up vertically, unlike the hydraulic ones, so it saves some space and is a perfect use inside a home garage
2) The lift offer wide openings on the sides too, therefore provide great access from all 4 sides
3) The lift has supporting wheels as accessories, which allows moving the lifted car around easily
4) Great support by the owner himself - a super awesome guy!!

The connection between the supports (that run down the side of the car) and the rollers looks sketchy to me. Definitely would want a more substantial connection there if my life is on the line underneath the car. 4400 pounds capacity isn't that much (and does that include safety margin or is that point of failure?) - all of the jack stands I use are rated to at least 3 tons.

You can get a real 4 post lift with a 4 ton capacity for just a little bit more money, and 4.5 ton capacity 2 post lifts are actually cheaper than this one. Both offer much higher weight capacity, much more substantial construction, and much higher lift (so you can actually stand under the car). Certainly less portable, but that's a fairly easy trade off in my mind.

I just went with the QuickJack instead. So far I'm very happy with it. Made oil change on my 2007 Rabbit wicked easy. I've lifted the R but not done any work on it. You will be surprised at the difference having the rear up makes when accessing the front! The hoses and pump are a bit fussy but certainly no more than working two jacks and jack stands to get the car up high enough to work on and stable. I'm not in love with their blocks since the R is so front heavy they get pretty squished but I'm working on some solid lumber that will fill the entire lift points. Storing the lifts isn't too bad, storing the pump and hoses sort of sucks... If you want to get crazy simple add a vacuum oil evacuation system to your tool kit.

Same here, Home Depot had a sale on the 7000 model so I went with that one. I haven't used it yet but from looking at Youtube videos, I think it is the best tool for my situation.

Nice - once you finish the wood blocks, can you post the dimensions of the block and the grove?

I got my drill from HF for $60 with combining all of their coupons. BTW, i never got mine at that height, awesome! As the pics showing, there is a lot of clearance from all 4 sides, you can roll in and out easily. I love this lift and I just added grease as my 1st annual maintenance, easy peasy too.

That’s awesome. I love using the EZ Car Lift also (obviously heh)

Performing my own maintenance and mods has increased my connection and appreciation for the R...

Do you use a creeper? Don’t have one yet but seems like it would be really useful.

Boytcho Manev, the owner of EZ Car Lift is outstanding btw. Probably one of the best buying experiences and customer service I’ve come across.

Boytcho answered my texts and calls immediately when I had questions. Saturday... Sunday... it didn’t matter. When you speak with him, you immediately can tell the pride he has in his product.

Was originally interested in the lift to avoid dealership employees joyriding my car when taking in for service and to pull then brakes when rocks and dust were making my brakes squeal. Ironically, I haven’t needed to do so since I’ve been pressure washing the brakes real good at every wash...

That said, in the few months I’ve had the EZ Car Lift it’s been used for:

Oil and transmission fluid changes. (All cars)
Inspections
Replacing bent OEM front rims x2
Intercooler install i.e front bumper removal
Tire rotation (wife’s car)

Thought Mr. Boytcho would get a kick from this thread and here is his reply. There are some useful tips I will definitely use in the future. No more flipping lifts over for me. I’ll try his suggestion and report back at the next opportunity

Boytcho Manev is definitely OCD (One Cool Dude)

Subject: EZcarlift and Type-R

I like EnjoyDriving's comments, very valid points and a lot of customers appreciate those, access from all 4, lifting straight, the many available accessories. The best of all is no need for bleeding, air compressor (to pre-lost the cylinders from the xxxxxx) and best of all no hose on the floor to trip over and stop a creeper from rolling.
You are correct, the cross spacers are not load-bearing. Believe it or not, if the car slipped slightly off the ramp it will hold it up.

I like how you are utilizing the shipping protectors to protect the bolts, good job ;)

Very detailed and good description of how things are and work. I also use the cross spacers to gauge the distance between the ramps. In general, there is a 1/2 inch gap between the spacers and the inside wall of the lift.

Safety - as we spoke earlier if anything fails, it will be before the car goes up. With every inch of lifting the stress on the threads reduces. At about 14 inches the pull on the threads is very minimal. For the lift to become dangerous at least two of the acme nuts will have to fail. The rectangular Follow Nut is a safety nut too. It is there in case of a failure. It will allow you to lower the lift with the car. The lift stable enough on three (3) legs.

Assembly/Disassembly
If you do not want to flip the lift all the time, right before you take the cross spacer off, raise it until the small rollers get off the ground. This will relieve the pressure on them and make it possible to take off the cross spacers. Also with the legs slightly up, you can roll (like a wheel barrel) the lift's section to your storage spot, just easier.
Changing from cross spacer from one size to other, if assembled, raise the lift 14-18 inches off the ground, take the one out and place the new on. This will not kill your knees and back.

Thank you for the compliment on my service. It is my product and I believe I am the one who can support it best. Plus I am always annoyed when I try to get help or an answer and have to wait forever. It really does not take long to do it right away, especially if I am not busy with something else.

Developer of EZcarlift, the epitome of what a home garage lift is all about – safety; convenience; affordability; ease of operation; compactness; storage and portability.
Powered by a simple electric corded drill this low profile lift will raise your 4,400-lb. vehicle from 4 to 26 inches off the ground in less than 90 seconds.

Great write up and review. Plenty of pics to satisfy inquisitive minds like myself, wanting to know and see how this operates. I'm also interested in doing some stuff on my own but finding the right equipment that would fit my needs (as well as my fat ass) is also difficult. I appreciate your post as it helps me decide which route I want to go...which at the moment is the EZ Carlift. Now, if you can help me with a write up on how to get the wifey to ok a purchase like this, that would be great! lol

it's just as stable as you having it on 4 jack stands. I don't see a problem with it.
It's just like a quickjack except that it's not hydraulic.

and for people who says they rather have a 4 / 2 post lift, though i agree i rather have a 4 / 2 post, the whole point of this is for portability.
Also, a 4 / 2 post lift wouldn't fit in my garage because it's very narrow and the ceiling is too low so i have no choice but to decide between this or the quickjack.
