They'd be foolish to sue Walmart or anyone else. :) They'll be lucky if their auto insurance company covers this under the comprehensive portion of their policy. If not, I'm guessing it'll cost them around $3-4K for a new sunroof glass, console, and cleanup assuming there's no other damage. There are flammable and explosion hazard symbols and warnings on the front and rear of the container:

The trunk will get as hot as inside the passenger space.
That hasn't been my experience. My sedan's trunk always seems cooler than the passenger compartment.

Not my experiment but seems about right...

Yeah, 43 °C vs. 38.5 °C seems about right in this case. But 43 °C (109 °F) is generally quite unimpressive, which means there was either not enough time or not enough sun. I get easily 150 °F. I get 148 °C on the exterior surface of the car even late in the afternoon.... If the time was longer, if the sun was at a different angle, if the thermometer was placed on the floor of the car (or inside the aerosol storage bin, which is the center console box :D), if the trunk was less insulated.... it would be different. The hotter and more sunny it is outside and the longer exposure, the less difference.

Blown up center console and moonroof is pretty bad, but it might get even worse. Like in this case, where shrapnel from an exploding aerosol can became lodged in the genitals, stomach and groin of a UK man, as he picked up the cans from the seat of his car...

I once had a can of ceiling paint explode in my garage. The temperature doesn't go much over 90 °F there, but the can corroded after years of storage close to some other stuff.

Ummm. How do you explain this to the insurance company?

"You're never going to believe this...."

“...prevent others from experiencing this damage....”
That’s pretty idiotic to say the least. You’ve got to be ignorant to keep any can of aerosol spray or anything similar product under pressure within your car, especially in the heat. Lol all the lady is doing is making herself/daughter seem stupid. Just my 2¢.

Yep, we have 115-120 F degree days all the time here in the Phoenix area, and cars get HOT inside. You can brand yourself with a hot seatbelt buckle if you aren't paying attention.

This reminds me of the time 10+ years ago there was a guy on the mustang forums that ran over a can of green spray paint. He had his windows down and the can flew in the window and landed in the back seat. The can was punctured and spun in circles shooting green spray paint all over the entire interior of the car! Unreal.
