You going to try and get the dealer to warranty it?
Well once you get them to admit a issue lol. Which is half the battle

I'd be very interested if we can get a picture of the old gasket so we can see the defect. I haven't heard of another HG failure... other than once, and I don't think there was a lot of info that was passed along.
Unfortunately it's becoming more common now. I know of one 10th gen owner that has gone through there 2nd head gasket.

Well we do have high pressure coolant purposefully channeled to run between the cylinder walls on the deck surface right? Ive been waiting to here of some examples....

The ethanol does the trick. My k count is always locked on .49 I mean 100% locked doesn't ever see .51 with ethanol tune. Without ethanol you have to reel it down to .49 with the 2psi boost for 2 minutes trick. You'll probably be speeding...The car has always ran so well until the acetone startup which for sure started horrible. p303 and p304 from the coolant getting in 3 and 4. I'm hoping it's the head gasket. It really seems like it. Anyone know of a cheaper than $200 hg kit and possibly studs? Going to have to order the next few days for 2 weekends out.

Maybe you can do a write up for us on how to change the head gasket when you finally get to replace it? It would be cool to see that.

Ordered the parts today. Note: 06110-5AA-A01 supersedes 06110-5AA-A00 that I linked. They said to go with A01. The 10 head bolts were also $3.30 each

Are you going to machine the head? Is there any warping?

Definitely get the head checked for warp. Not worth having to do another head gasket not so far down the road.

Forgive me if I've missed it, but surely you are not going to pull the head off without doing a compression check?

Thanks for the interest guys. Yes, getting the head checked when pulling. About $100 to check it, probably a few hundred to deck it. I have my own cheap compression test kit. I was planing on doing it with my mechanic though before we tear in. Want to compare them to each other and also before and after head gasket. It's just sitting this week as I've been on the FZ1.

So I hoped to work on the car this weekend but that $200 head gasket kit has been on backorder from Honda and won't give the dealer an ETA for it's release. I asked dealer if I could just get the head gasket and he said it will be here tomorrow for $50. Head bolts are already in. Hopefully that head gasket is all I need.
