Took us 9 months working hand in hand with Hybrid Racing...and here we are.

Hybrid Racing released its innovative and revolutionary FK8 short shifter today, available limited red Launch Edition and gold. Full installation and over 2 months of testing and use detailed in our FB post.

Btw...3 Honda engineers/executives used the one we installed in our car for 2 months and LOVED it!

Took some test shots with a new cellphone lens (normal vs ultra-wide) today. Overcast sky, perfect for taking pictures.

Purchased a set of OPT7 taillights and an AGM 680CC battery from AZ. OEM is not going to cut it in winter. ~$160 after coupon was pretty good imo.

Installed OEM mirror housing turn signals with Mugen mirrors.

Here is a parts list. All are US based parts with exception of the top left; that is a UK based part. You can get that at Cox Motorparts. For the bottom middle part number, you need 4 since those are the screws to mount the LEDs to the housing. Cost of the OEM parts, about $210 shipped using Honda Parts Guys and Cox Motorparts.

I used a couple of write ups found in the DIY forum on how to disassemble the mirror assembly, and how to install the Mugen mirrors.

Did the first oil change on my CTR yesterday @ 1404 miles. First oil change on a street car that I've done in years. It was cheaper for me to go to my local Honda dealer than me buying the oil & filter. Did my fair share of oil changes on the race car though (ran methanol). Anyway I digress. I went with Amsoil Signature Series 0W-20 & an EA15K13 filter. I have never used Amsoil oil but had great success with their ATF & rear gear oil in my drag car.First thing that I took from yesterday. I absolutely love my EZ car lift. Quick & easy to get the car off the ground. Simple to lower it while putting in the oil, etc. Money well spent!! Thanks to Fatherpain for all the pics & info !!! Second thing I realized is that Honda has hired Magilla Gorilla to install the oil filter. My band type filter wrench couldn't brake it loose. So I went to advanced Auto & bought a cup type. That couldn't get it off. It just kept slipping. Finally called my neighbor. He owns a tire & lube shop. He had one that finally got it off. Honda if you are reading this, ease off of the torque on the oil filters. LOL!! Final thought is on the dipstick. Is it me or is it hard as hell to read/see it? Definitely could use some improvement there. All in all it felt good doing it myself again. Now to save up some money for some mods !!!!

Lol Chris, I had several oil changes at the dealer before deciding to go the DIY route. The dealer techs install the oil filter super tight. Cap wrench kept slipping off. Fortunately after all else failed, had one of these Tekton filter pliers, but was looking kinda sketchy for awhile..Filter was all mangled by the time it finally came off, heh.

Didn’t install the new filter nearly that tight and can attest there are no leaks. Have popped the car up several times since to check. Glad to hear the ezcarlift is working well. Which reminds me I need to post an ezcarlift topic of these days ;)

Inspected the exhaust system for leaks. Had it “professionally” installed before getting on the DIY kick.

This looks like a leak at this slip joint.

Wiped off and tightened it a flat.

Looked like another at the 2nd joint. Got a flat on that also.

And another one!

Cleaned and tightened. Got a flat on all 3 joints. Hopefully no more leaks ;)
