Yea I noticed that too. There was one time it was pretty bad like i was scraping over sheet metal while I was crawling in traffic (kept clunking for about 10ft). But regarding your question, I dont think it's the Hill Assist because it happens when I'm moving on flat surface at low speed
mine usually only happens once when it comes to about stop. it is not the scraping sound at all, it is just one clunk sound, like a touch on a single guitar string, thats it. what could be mechanically moving and make that sound when the car is on braking to come about stop? Anyone?

Yea that's what I get too. I didn't describe it properly... I only said "scraping" because at the time I thought I drove over a metal piece and was scraping my bottom. But yea i get that metallic spring popping noise at low speeds. There was another thread about that before.

Does it happen once or multiple times on your car?
Can you post up a link to that post? And this certainly unlike the problem of getting rock into the brake shield. Thanks

I know my brake hold results in the car making a pop sound coming off from a stop frequently. It’s like the brake disengages incorrectly or something.

It happens maybe once or twice a week. Mostly when I'm leaving my garage in the morning.

Any way to have it on by default?
The switch for the brake hold, when engaged, is probably receiving 12v.
I suppose you could take the wire that is receiving the 12v and route it to a 12v source that is hot when ignition in engaged. That way the brake hold would engage at start up.

I rarely use this feature, but it does come in handy sometimes. Yes, you can use the brake, gas and clutch to prevent rollback,
and you should have this skill. That said, if you are at a light and on an incline, it works well and seems to not interfere with
a smooth start as it releases cleanly. Good feature.

I'll have to try this again. I remember seeing multiple review videos indicating the same thing.

I seem to remember needing to disengage the parking brake manually even with my seat belt buckled
If you park it in gear, you need to shift to neutral and back into gear for the parking brake to auto disengage. It's looking for the seatbelt to be buckled, and for you to shift into gear. So if you try, and it doesn't work, go to neutral and back into gear.

ALSO... if you have brake hold turned on, the parking brake will automatically engage when you come to a stop and remove your seatbelt. So in other words, if you use your seatbelt and brake hold, you never need to manually engage or disengage the parking brake. The car will do it for you.

My hill assist doesn't work if I roll backwards. It does work rolling forward. ‍♂

I'm trying to understand when Hill Assist would not be wanted. Help me out here :dunno:

Brake hold is a separate feature (That I never use) for being able to take your foot off the brake on a flat surface or wherever. I guess to reduce fatigue? I don't really understand the point.
Hill Assist though, even if you don't really need it, it can't really hurt, can it?
The point of Brake Hold is that when you are at a stop, either on a hill or not, you don't have to keep your foot on the brake. When you are at a stop light, you don't need to have either foot on a pedal at all. Less stress. When you are ready to go, just put in the clutch, shift to 1st and go. I love this feature. Also, mentioned before, if you use brake hold the parking back is always automatically engaged when you shut the car off.

I find myself forgetting to hold the brake pedal at lights from time to time in my wife's SUV after getting used to brake hold on my car :)

Not only when you shut off the car. The parking brake also automatically engages if you unbuckle your seat belt while at a stop with brake hold turned on and engaged.

I never use brake hold, I hate it. But whenever I am sitting at a traffic light on a slight incline for more that 2-3 minutes, when I put the car into gear and let go of the brake, I don't roll back. It seems as if brake hold auto engages.

Maybe some of you guys can test this on your next drive?
I also have this happen to me and I never engage break hold its always off.
The only difference I can tell with break hold on is that you also dont roll forward (downhill) where when its off you can roll forward.
