Someone told me i cant change the ramp cos apparently its too “hard” and might mess up my trans. Went from agressive II to improved I and it kinda lost a lil bit of fun. LOLAll the ramps settings are safe. The only setting you need to avoid is disabling boost ramp. That's too rough on the CVT.
Getting back to this whole tune versus map thing. I'll try to explain it to help SilverArrow's confusion. A tune is what gets uploaded to the KTuner unit which then gets uploaded to the ECU.
Within a tune (if you have on the fly map capability) there are three different maps. Each map can have different boost and settings. These individual maps can then be switched with the cruise control buttons.
The confusion comes from the fact the KTuner software labels the three maps as "tune" 1-2-3. Those are actually maps 1-2-3.
Hope this helps.
Thanks gtman, but i'm not confuse. All the ramp settings are safe. The only setting you need to avoid is disabling boost ramp. That's too rough on the CVT.

Im running dual tune atm (eco on + off ) i havent really messed around with the tune just yet- but i was kinda scared to amp the ramp settings cos it was something i was not familiar withYes you can remove it.
Please read my topic about my KTuner experience. It will help you greatly. It's always better to have a good grasp on tuning before you play around with settings in my opinion.
Youre right- ill be doing some research ( read your posts and visit ktuner website ) and learn about the basics so far- i am having so much fun lol even took the longest route to get home from work :3 thankyou!!Like I said, it's important to understand what those settings do and how they interact with each other. Ramp is for high throttle situations. The more aggressive the ramp the quicker you hit the boost target when you are pressing hard on the throttle. The factory setting gently ramps to the target.
i would think so! dont take my word on it tho- im doing dual tune for now but i will be trying to do starters when i get home from work. i want to set up 3 maps that i can just swap on the fly lolI have a question I just uploaded base map for my 2.0, if I want to switch to throttle response 1 or 2 I just select the one I want then reflash same way correct?
Well you got the si with all the options lol 2.0 only has one mapi would think so! dont take my word on it tho- im doing dual tune for now but i will be trying to do starters when i get home from work. i want to set up 3 maps that i can just swap on the fly lol
I actually have the 1.5T CVT hatchback lol we sadly dont have si in australiaWell you got the si with all the options lol 2.0 only has one map
Hi,they are all safe
stage 2 is blocked or almost
the dual can be modified
start with stage 2, and enjoy, then try the dual in the various settings and enjoy
the only thing that doesn't appeal to me is to disable the rev hang
when you're tired, pay 79 dollars a tsp and enjoy with their melody, it's much more refined
in short ..... there is much to enjoy
advice, remember to use the low gears, 5 & 6 use them only for rest,
if you sink, remember that you are at least above 2500 rpm
and use premium fuel, don't be a louse, in Europe the premium petrol we pay you from 1.3 euros to 2 euros liter, liter not gallon, you're lucky
No, in others thread KTuner says that stage 2 is more aggressive of of starter 21.Hi,
I am also looking to tune for the first time and been reading a lot of threads. some questions:
If i use the starter 21 tune but don’t adjust any settings, is that the same as stage 2?
I read going full throttle from 0 is not good for long term durability and i’m not looking to do that at all. id like to avoid accidentally doing that but would like to reduce the lag (from what others post). do you need to adjust settings for that?
thanks!
The Starter 21 out of the box is less potent than the Stage 2 if you left all the settings at factory. The magic happens when you adjust the quick settings and enables. If i use the starter 21 tune but don’t adjust any settings, is that the same as stage 2?
