My original plan was for the long haul, but when spring rolls around, I'll be seriously considering trading it in or selling it and getting a Challenger scat pack widebody.

I think the widebody challenger and chargers look awesome! Just a heads up make sure you have a good long powertrain warranty for the 6.4. The dealer just replaced our motor due to bad lifters on our 14 SRT Jeep. Seems a lot of people are having issues past 50k miles. But its still a fun ride!

I'll drive this one until it dies.
^ I second this. And then when that happens it will probably take me a while to find something else I like. If I like what the Civic looks like at that point then probably another Civic. I want to drive manual until my legs can't do it anymore lol :D

I'm not one to buy a new car every 5 years or so, or even every couple years like most CA people. But for that reason, I make sure I buy a car I really like and will enjoy until it can no longer be of service. Then I hand it over to a nephew or niece.

My current plan is to keep the Type R for at least 5 years. Once electric cars are at the point where they can reliably get 350-400 mile range for <$50k I will probably trade in for that. Electric is the future and I accept that, but I'm gonna enjoy the 6MT and Type R until electric becomes realistic.

When I bought mine I intended to keep it forever. Now it’s been hit and I’m not sure I care as much anymore. Really makes me sad.

As much as I love my FK8, if you've seen any of my recent posts recently, you know that financially it's stupid for me to continue to hold onto it when I don't even have a place of my own yet. So it's likely I'll get rid of it and focus on being able to get to that point, and maybe when I'm older and more mature I'll be able to return. Not 100% decided yet though.
Yeah, this changed. After quite literally crying for about 2 hours at the thought of leaving my Type R at a dealer for good I knew that I couldn’t leave it. Tomorrow I would’ve done that too.

Damn it Honda, you might have done it. You might have found me a forever car. That emotion I experienced was heartfelt and it completely showed me that even if my car doesn’t make sense all the way for me.. it’s something that I just can’t replace.

The power of dreams indeed.

I'll pay it off in 4 years and evaluate then. My answer is far too dependent on the landscape of the automotive industry.

For the purpose of the poll, I voted that I'd sell it when it's paid off fwiw.

Mine is paid off and I intend to keep it as long as practical. I've found that although cars can last past 200k miles, it's a bit of a hassle. So I'll probably get something else by 200k, with my current commute that will be 9 years

Sold mine!
R-00057 was an awesome car but it was not as collectable as I once thought it would be.
I am curious about what changed your mind.

I bought mine to keep forever, but it's gotten hit now and I just don't feel the same about it anymore.

I think he bought a M3 CS

if i could buy and afford a M3 CS i'd get rid of the CTR in a heartbeat haha.

I do feel the same way at times. I like it and want to keep it but at the same time, other cars catches my eyes.

Mine's been hit twice (once my fault the other not), but I got them both fixed. The paint chips eventually moved to the point of "well, that was bound to happen anyways" at this point, but it doesn't really damper the experience since it still drives like it did off the lot.
